I had the best homemade pickles at a little get together that Ben and I went to yesterday. We had burgers, watermelon, Bacon Bacon! dip from Tastefully Simple, and salt and pepper kettle chips. The pickles tasted fantastic on the burgers.
For dessert we had cupcakes and ice cream, all made by Ben and Ashley. It was all very very good and I was stuffed to the gills. I’ve never laughed so long in my life before either!
I did try some refrigerator pickle recipe before we had these. That recipe called for white vinegar, and I only had distilled white vinegar on hand at that time. I did not like that recipe at all. This recipe was better than that one. We had also gone to the Farmer’s market on Saturday this weekend and I picked up 5 pickling cucumbers to use for this. Thanks Ben and Ashley for the great pickle recipe!
Ingredients
1 cup of apple cidar vinegar
2 cups of sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 onion
5 pickling cucumbers
Directions
Slice cucumbers very thin. Place all ingredients in a bowl and let rest in a refrigerator for up to 24 hours. You can can them if you wish.
