I have something to confess and I’m not very happy about it. My weight has been the same for the last year and I am fed up to here with it. That means my metabolism has slowed down quite a bit and there needs to be a change. I’ve been quite addicted to Youtube lately and came a cross a video where the person talking described me exactly. I can’t lose weight and go on a diet and try to reduce my calories like myfitnesspal says and I manage to lose a couple of pounds and that is it. I was hungry all the time and the weight went right back to where it was before. Annoying. When I exercise every week I do 2 30 minutes of Tabata style workouts and Zumba class for cardio.
She mentions in her video about finding your calorie maintenance level and to stop dieting. My calorie maintenance level is around 2,000 to 2200 calories a day. How do I know this? Because I’ve tracked it in my fitnesspal before and my weight always stays the same number. In order to lose some weight she suggests lowering your calorie intake by 10%. This is huge because that means you can eat 200 calories less and still lose body fat. Notice how much of a difference this is compared to what sites like MyFitnessPal says and this is why I do not like their suggestions or what Weight Watchers is saying to eat points wise. They have me at 30 points a day and that is basically around 1200 to 1300 calories a day. Weight Watchers is pretty much the same thing as myfitnesspal and they put you in a calorie deficit so it feels like you’re starving all damn day long which is what happened to me.
So, for the next month or 2, I am going to track all my calorie intake on myfitnesspal(I like the app basically for tracking) and I’m going to maintain at my maintenance level. I’m also going to eat healthier food. She is a Vegan but I’m not ready to take that step yet. I’m very fascinated by the Vegan lifestyle and have been watching a lot of Vegan youtubers lately. I’m just going to try and eat less meat. I’ll post progress pictures a long the way and then after the 1st month, I’ll try lowering my calorie intake to 1800 calories a day. Way more doable than what MyFitnessPal says. Don’t you agree? If anyone is interested her name is Chrsitine Salus and I’ll link her youtube channel. Watch her video on why Your Metablism sucks and How to fix it. Something about this video just clicked for me and I’m going to start doing this an exercising more. Hopefully this helps the scale budge for me and changes up my metabolism quite a bit. I’d document this all on video but I’m more of writer/blogger so that is what I’m going to show you here. Stay tuned for updates and I’m really excited to try this girls method out!
