This is almost exactly like the recipe my grandma uses to make her apple bars. Except that she uses an egg yolk instead of an egg white. We made these together today, since she is in town for awhile. I've been craving these bars for awhile now, and all of my family just love these bars. My aunt and uncle request that my grandma makes them, whenever we go down to Nebraska for a visit. The apples came from our apple tree in our back yard. 🙂 Next week, I'm going to pick all the rest of the apples off our tree and freeze them in freezer bags. Who needs an apple pie when you have these bars. The next time you go to the orchard to pick all those apples make these! You will not be disappointed.

I slice them up and let them soak in some lemon water for a bit. Then drain the apples and store them in freezer bags. Let out as much air as possible! I need to update this post it's kind of old. 🙂
