If you live in the Midwest, you are used to April being like this: 70 and sunny one day, and cold and snowy the next. There are plenty of good memes out there on the Internet in regards to that and they make me laugh every time. This is a meme from Incredible Recipes Facebook page.
After Easter, I kind of fell off the calorie counting wagon and it’s been hard for me to get back on track but lately. I’ve been logging in myfitnesspal again and I’m almost back down to what I weighed before Easter weekend which was 159.00.
Most of my friends who read this blog know this, but I live next to 2 hospitals. The parking has become quite ridiculous around here ever since the snow melted I’ve become friends with the Police department. You can get a ticket if you’re ever so slightly parked in someones driveway on the boulevard and I’ve called the cops at least 3 times on this. They probably love me, because they’re making money off of me and now I call myself the parking natzi. There are private lots where I’m assuming the hospital employees have to pay for and Sanford owns most of the parking lots on this street. I’m assuming the reason these employees park here is because they want to be close to their place of work and not have to pay for a parking permit which most of the lots are around here.
With all the mess above, this is one of the reasons I’ve chosen to move. I don’t know when I’ll move but I want to be gone next year sometime. I might live here one more Winter because I just love the location but it’s time for a change and more space. I’m looking for a place that has a fenced in yard for my dogs, has at least 3 bedrooms so one can be my office, a basement, and an outdoor patio. A little bit more space than what I have now. I live in a tiny rambler house.
Speaking of my patio, I finally got all the junk that was out of there and next week is Spring clean up week here.
This is the before shot
Here is the after shot! The furniture is from Scheels Home and Hardware and all the rest of the stuff like the rugs, pillow, and tables came from Ikea. There’s some lights that need to be hung up on the ceiling still but it is just so nice to go out there and sit now.
Most of the days are spent working at home either photographing or making videos of the recipes I make for this blog. Since the weather is a little nicer out I decided to go and explore some of the places downtown that offer a wifi to work at and found Babb’s Coffee house. Downtown Fargo is pretty sweet and there’s a lot of stores and restaurants down there that I want to try.
There’s also this one restaurant downtown called Pounds that has build your own Bloody Mary Bars and Mimosa Bars on the weekends. They literally have everything but the kitchen sink you could think of to make a mimosa or bloody mary with. It was pretty cool. They both are $9.00 a drink and I think the price is worth it with all the stuff you can pile on top of a tooth pick.
New product finds:
Dots Pretzels are so so good and you can have about 20 pretzels for 130 calories. Whatever seasoning they put on them is like crack and sometimes I’ll sit there and just suck on the pretzel before chewing it just to get all the seasoning off of it. That sounds really weird but they are so good! It’s a ND based company and I’m not sure if they are located anywhere else. I’m guessing Minnesota might have some of them?
Another new product that’s really good is this Chilly Cow ice cream. It’s perfect for 1 person and the whole entire pint for this was 6 smart points.
That about wraps it up for April. I’m not really sure what I should be calling these types of posts yet. Thoughts? I’m not really a coffee drinker at all but love to get together for any other meal of the day. Hope everyone has a good May. Oh yes, and I’ll be changing my blog over to https so that my site is more secure on Friday and also Google will like me better. 🙂
