bacon cheeseburger pizza 016

Cheeseburger Bacon Pizza -  Pizza and cheeseburgers actually go very well together. With the help of store bought pizza dough this pizza comes together fast and you can put all your favorite burger toppings on top.

This weekend was filled with Northern Lights, a red moon, and fireworks. 50+ some mosquito bites later, and it was all worth it though. Now, it's back to the work grind.

On Sunday when I got home, I made a cheeseburger pizza. It was the perfect way to use up the leftover ground beef. It's your typical cheeseburger but transformed into a pizza. What are your favorite burger toppings? Mine favorite toppings are always pickles, tomatoes, ketchup, mayo,  and bacon. Some people like raw onions on their burgers, but not me. I prefer caramelized onions on top of my burgers.

To make this pizza Weight Watcher friendly, I used lean ground beef, reduced fat cheese, and only two slices of bacon. The Boboli pizza crusts, you can find in the grocery stores are perfect for making Weight Watcher friendly pizzas. One serving is only 3 points. The whole wheat crust is just as good as the regular crust. Turkey bacon would be a good thing to use for this also, but I recommend the real stuff. You can use whatever your favorite burger toppings are.

Ingredients for Cheeseburger and Bacon Pizza

  • Boboli Pizza Crust, Thin - this is the crust I always reach for whenever I don’t feel like making dough. 2 ingredient dough can also be used to make this pizza as well. When I made this recipe back in 2014, that dough wasn’t going viral back then. Go figure. The whole pizza crust comes in at 16 points. The package says 4.75 ounces but I round it off to 5.
  • Lean ground beef
  • Ketchup and ground mustard make the sauce pizza. Use a reduced sugar ketchup.
  • Roma tomatoes - cut or dice them however you like.
  • Scallions
  • Bacon - can sub turkey bacon
  • Dill pickles - use an unsweetened dill pickle for zero points
  • Colby and Monterey Jack Cheese

How to make Cheeseburger and Bacon Pizza

  • Preheat oven to 425.
  • In a medium bowl combine the ketchup and mustard. Stir until well combined.
  • On the pizza crust, spread the ketchup and mustard. Sprinkle the ground beef and bacon on top of the pizza crust, and then cheese.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish the pizza with the chopped pickles, sliced tomatoes, and scallions.

Tips for Cheeseburger Bacon Pizza

The recipe below are toppings I like to put on my burger but you can use whatever you like! Some other ideas for burger toppings:

Avocado - Avocado tends to ripen fast. If you are wanting to add this to the pizza, I wouldn’t spread it all over the pizza dough right away. I’d do it by the individual slice. That way if you have leftover pizza and want to save it you can and not have the whole pizza go to waste.

Fried  Egg - You might think this is weird, but a fried egg on top of a burger is actually very delicious. You’d be surprised!
