I have a couple of donut recipes on this blog because baked donuts are the best. They aren't deep fried in fat and they are made in a cute donut pan! If you love baked donuts, you will also like Baked Chocolate Donuts, Lemon Blueberry Donuts, and bacon pancake donuts. See more recipes below!

Plain Baked Donuts

Donut recipes are almost like cupcake recipes so if you don't have a donut pan you can put this batter in a muffin tin but they literally have pans out there for almost anything these days. If you want some kind of shape like a pumpkin or witch for Halloween there's probably mold or pan for it. Just do a quick search on Amazon.

These plain jane baked donuts you can do anything with them. Make some chocolate frosting, a glaze and top with sprinkles, add fruit to the donuts. etc. Whatever you like. They do have a hint of lemon to them so if you don't like that leave out the zest!

Tips for Baked Donuts

This is a standard donut pan, not mini size. Makes 8 regular sized donuts

If you wish to try and lower the points more with a sugar substitute you can do that. Just make sure to look up the conversions for whatever one you use.

Here is the donut pan I use. Wilton 6 Cavity Donut Baking Pan

Silicone mold donut pan

Baked donuts last for up to 1 week. Store them in airtight containers or in a storage bag.

Can you freeze baked donuts? Wrap them individually in saran wrap or once the donuts have completely cooled add them to a freezer storage bag and pop them in the freezer.

I dusted my donuts with a little bit of powdered sugar.

Either type of milk will be ok but I used unsweetened almond milk to get the donuts to be 4 points each.

Your recipe says 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk but the instructions say buttermilk. Can you please tell me which one is correct?
