Banana Bread Waffles

With banana bread waffles, you can have one ready in less than 5 minutes and still get that great banana bread flavor. You will no longer have to wait for banana bread to bake in the oven!



  • 1 1/2 cups Self rising flour
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed with a fork
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1/4 c. Nonfat plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips
  • Maple syrup, for serving


  1. Heat waffle iron and grease with cooking spray. 

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt.

  3.  In another large bowl, mash ripe bananas with a fork. Then incorporate  the egg, egg white, Greek Yogurt, unsweetened milk, and vanilla.  

  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips. 

  5. Add 1/2 cup batter to waffle iron. Close and cook until golden on both sides. Transfer waffle to a plate and repeat with the remaining batter. 

  6. Serve with good maple syrup.

  7. Serving Size: 1 waffle
