Berry Antioxidant Smoothie

If you want to be super healthy and fight diseases, this is the smoothie for you. Just one cup of berries has all the antioxidants you need in one day. Kiwi is another powerful fruit that helps boost your immune system and enhance cell protection. Bananas have so much potassium, just drink this smoothie during the Winter time to help you from getting sick. I’m going to start doing that myself for the rest of Janurary. It seems like everyone around you is sick in some way or another.

One thing that drives me crazy about fruit is how many carbs are in one serving. I use fatsecret to count calories and this week, I’ve been eating pears as a snack. Just one medium pear has 22mg of carbs per serving.  This smoothie has 43.12 carbs per serving and the difference in Points Plus and SmartPoints is quite remarkleable. One serving for Points Plus has 4 and the Smart Points is 8. See how much different it is with the amount of sugars or carbs a smoothie has? Pretty crazy.

For garnish, you can place some extra frozen fruit on top and a kiwi slice. The kiwi gives the drink a nice little garnish and the green looks great against the red color of the smoothie.

You can use whatever juice you like that you aren’t allergic to.
