Instant Pot Bourbon Chicken

Bourban chicken just like at the Chinese Takeout place in the mall!



  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken, cut into bite-size pieces

  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup bourbon

  • 2 Tablespoons honey

  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger

  • 1 Tablespoon corn starch

  • 1 Tablespoon water


  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of your Instant Pot. 
  2. In a small bowl combine the soy sauce, bourbon, honey, dijon mustard, sugar, garlic powder, and ginger. Whisk well to combine. Pour over chicken. 
  3. Close and lock the lid on your Instant Pot. Set the Instant Pot to manual and set the timer for 20 minutes. When the time is up do a quick release. 
  4. The sauce should be boiling when you open the lid. Mix the water and cornstarch together in a small bowl and add to the sauce. Whisk everything together until it has slightly thickened. 
  5. Serve with white or brown rice and garnish with chopped scallions (optional).
  6. 3/4 cup serving size
