    hot and spicy sausage dip

Hot and Spicy Sausage Dip Recipe is made with 3 ingredients including cream cheese, spicy sausage, and rotel tomatoes. Great side dish or appetizer for game day. Make ahead of time and keep it warm in your slow cooker!

This dip isn’t one of the prettiest dips to photograph because of how white and grey it is but it is definitely a dip that you will make again and again. I’ve seen it being called the “Ugly Dip” but I’ll leave it up to you to decide that.

I don’t know if you’d even call this a recipe. All you do is brown some sausage, add the can of Rotel tomatoes, and cream cheese, and call it a day. If your sausage isn’t hot enough, feel free to add in ⅛ teaspoon of cayenne pepper or hot sauce. This dip is served best warm

The chips were from Sam’s Club. They have these multi-grain flax tortilla chips that are perfecting for any kind of dipping.

    Ingredients for Spicy Sausage Dip

Sausage  -  This dip only works if your sausage is flavorful enough. The last time I made this the sausage didn’t have any taste to it at all so definitely go for a spicier sausage or pick some up at your local butcher shop.

Cream Cheese -  I’ve seen people use Velveeta instead of Cream Cheese

    Rotel  - no substitute

Serve with your favorite crackers or chips

For the full recipe please see the recipe card below.

In a large skillet, cook sausage, breaking up into small pieces (like taco meat) until fully cooked. Drain all excess fat. Add Rotel and cream cheese, mix until well blended and heated thoroughly.

Place in a serving dish, serve warm with you favorite tortilla chips or Fritos Scoops.
