How to Cook Bacon in the Oven

Bacon is one of my favorite ingredients to cook with and I’ve even written a cookbook about it called 50 Shades of Bacon. You can purchase it on Amazon! Bacon is a magical ingredient that can elevate just about any recipe you can think of. It even makes sweet recipes taste amazing.

There are many different methods for cooking bacon but my favorite method is using the oven. When I’m in a hurry, I will use the microwave and even your air fryer will cook bacon. For more bacon recipes check out the recipes below if you love bacon just as much I do.

Why bake it in the oven?

There are lots of reasons to cook your bacon in the oven!

Easy Cleanup: When you cook bacon on a skillet, the grease splatters everywhere and gets on your nice clothes.  When you cook bacon in the oven, line a cookie sheet with some tin foil so all you have to do is throw all the grease that stuck to the tinfoil in the garbage.

Makes a lot: If you are planning on having a Sunday brunch party, you can cook a lot of bacon at once.

Save all the bacon fat! You can use it for recipes later on or even make bacon candles with it.

How to make Bacon in the Oven

Preheat oven to 400 degrees:

Line a large sheet pan with tinfoil.

Arrange the bacon strips on the baking sheet.

Cook for 20 minutes: The cooking time for bacon will depend on how thick your bacon is. Thinly sliced bacon takes 20 minutes, any thicker bacon will take longer.

Get rid of any excess fat by patting the tops dry with paper towels if you do not plan on using the fat for any recipes later on.
