lobster rolls 012

Lobster rolls are just like making any kind of tuna salad sandwich. Add mayo to the cooked lobster along with some seasonings and bam. Lunch is served.

Lobster is pretty simple to cook as well. Boil the lobster tails in water for 8 minutes or until the outer shell has turned red and the meat instead is white instead of opaque. My grocery stores always have the smaller lobster tails so that is what I get. Lobster is a treat to have every now and then even though it’s way more expensive than tuna is. Have to treat yourself every now and then and Lobster rolls are so good.

Ingredients for Lobster Rolls

Lobster  -  precooked

Bun  -  split top New England-style buns, or hot dog buns

Butter - For toasting the bun. If lactose intolerant use a Vegan butter spread.

Sauce -  mayo, lemon juice, salt and pepper, and chives

Add-ins - Some recipes call for chopped celery to be added in with the sauce. Feel free to add if you wish.

How to Make Lobster Rolls

For the full recipe please see the recipe card below.

Cook your lobster tail meat in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes or until the shell has turned red and the meat inside the tail is white or no longer opaque. Let cool and remove the lobster meat from the shell. Set aside in a bowl.

Melt butter in microwave and brush all over cut sides of hot dog buns. Heat a large skillet on medium heat and add buns, cut side down. (You may have to do this in batches.) Let toast until golden, 1 to 2 minutes.

When buns are toasted, remove them from the pan.

Mix together cooked lobster, mayo, lemon juice, salt, and pepper together in a bowl. Stir well to combine.

Fill toasted buns with lobster and garnish with chives. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing.
