Pineapple and ham pizza, also known as Hawaiian pizza, is a beloved pizza topping combination around the world. The combination of sweet and savory flavors makes this pizza a unique and delicious option for pizza lovers everywhere.

    Pineapple and Ham Pizza

The Midwest is in a major Winter storm right now. When there's a storm outside all I want to do is stay inside, watch some good movies, and eat a pizza. The pizza delivery place was even closed so I decided to make my own. I ALWAYS have the ingredients for 2 ingredient dough on hand so I can make a personal pan pizza. There was leftover ham from Christmas, so I chopped the ham up into tiny pieces like they do at Happy Joe's Pizzeria. Topped it with some pineapple and popped that in the oven for 15 minutes at 350. This pizza only has 6 ingredients!

I went outside today and tried shoveling 4 inches of snow and said to "heck with this" and I called the first place someone recommended to me on Facebook for snow removal service. I'm not going to bend over and break my back just to shovel that stuff this year. Calling a snow removal service is probably going to be one the best decisions I've ever made this year. 🙂

    Ingredients Needed

    • Self-rising flour is a type of flour that already contains baking powder and salt, which are essential ingredients in many baked goods.
    • Non-Fat Greek Yogurt - is considered great for a variety of reasons. It is typically higher in protein and lower in sugar than regular yogurt, making it a good choice for those looking to maintain a balanced diet.
    • Leftover ham, finely chopped can be from the Deli or a ham that was baked.
    • Part skim mozzarella cheese - I like to use Reduced-Fat Cheese because it has a lower calorie count and less saturated fat than regular cheese, but it may also have a different taste and texture.
    • Diced pineapple - fresh or from canned
    • Store-bought or homemade pizza sauce (I use Preggo Heart Smart)
    • See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

    Should Pineapple be on Pizza?

Despite some controversy over whether or not pineapple belongs on a pizza, the popularity of the Hawaiian pizza continues to grow. Many pizza chains and restaurants offer this topping combination, and it has become a staple in the pizza world.

    Recipe FAQs

Who created pineapple and ham pizza?

The origins of this pizza topping combination are somewhat disputed, but many believe that it was first created in Canada in the 1960s. The creator of the pizza, Sam Panopoulos, was looking for a way to create a pizza that would stand out and be different from the traditional Italian-style pizzas that were common in Canada at the time. He came up with the idea of adding pineapple and ham, and the Hawaiian pizza was born.
