Red, White, and Blue Rice Krispie Treats

Rice Krispie Treats are such a great treat to make in the Summertime because they are no-bake! With the help of your microwave, these treats will be easy to whip up for a party or BBQ in no time.  Please do keep in mind that all microwaves do not cook the same and require more time to melt the marshmallows other than what the recipe states below.

Kellog’s comes out with a limited edition of red, white, and blue rice Krispies around the 4th of July.

Ingredients:

Wondering why I used a certain ingredient or looking for a substitute? Check this section.

Rice Krispies Cereal - Kellog’s brand is what I use for my treats. Any other generic cereal will work for this, although the other brands might not have red, white, and blue colored ones.

Butter - the more the better if your tracking allows it for the day! Can also sub in light butter.

Marshmallows - mini marshmallows are a must!

How to make 4th of July Rice Krispie Treats

Grease a 9"-x-13" baking pan with Cooking Spray.

In a large bowl add marshmallows and butter, stir until completely melted. Place the bowl in the microwave and cook the marshmallows until they have all melted.

Remove from microwave and stir in Rice Krispies.

Pour into pan and smooth top, being careful not to pack Rice Krispies into the pan too much.

Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
