Getting my house ready to sell!
Purging and Decluttering
I spent a good portion of this month cleaning out everything in my current house that has accumulated over the past 8 years. I kept on finding things to toss that my ex never took out of the house when he moved out and there was even stuff from when the previous owner still lived here. Lots of paint buckets that needed to be taken over to the recycling place. Every week, I filled up my car and took a load over to donate. Decluttering your home is a good feeling and when there’s crap everywhere I can’t seem to focus. There was nowhere to put stuff away and when I was done decluttering, it felt like I had my house back again. I ended up taking over 4 loads of crap to donate. It’s amazing the junk that you can collect in your house after living there for so long!
Moving!
The last Sunday in September my house went up for sale. It was on the market for 3 or 4 days? It sold to the second person who walked in my door. I’m still in shock at how quickly my house sold and I have until the November 29th to get out of my current home and for the house inspection to go ok. My foundation in the basement needs to get fixed and it will be fixed, so hopefully, that is the only thing they find wrong with the home. I can’t wait to move and get off this busy street and to live somewhere where it is quiet during the day! Not to mention have a bigger kitchen. I haven’t picked a new home yet and hopefully, I will soon.
I lived in my house for 8 years and have developed so many yummy recipes. It’s where my blog was born. There were some sad memories that happened in this house as well and I’m looking forward to moving on to bigger and better things!
I know just how you feel when you declutter and get rid of stuff you no longer need. It is a freeing feeling! Just imagine the “stuff” we’ve accumulated here after 35 years of marriage! My husband is a keeper of all things and it’s very hard to get him to part ways with his things. Good for you for a quick sell and a I hope you find the perfect new home on a quiet street so you can continue to keep us WW fed with healthy foods!
Oh my! 35 years of stuff? Thanks Kathy! 🙂
