How to make spider web cupcakes. All you need is white frosting and black food coloring gel or chocolate chips to make these fun cupcakes for Halloween! No cake decorating skills required.

Have I mentioned how much I love Halloween before? It's my favorite Holiday. I love it so much, I made my own grim reaper. Decorating my house for the Holiday is fun but decorating cupcakes is something I'm not very good at.

Spiderweb Cupcakes

These cupcakes are indeed very easy to decorate. To make the spiderwebs on the cupcake all you need is Black decorative food coloring gel and tooth picks. You draw 3 circles on top of the frosting and use the tooth to draw the lines inside the spiderweb. Easy peasy!

I've been learning how to scale down recipes and loved this recipe from Pillsbury so much. I just looked up a cupcake recipe for 6 and came across this so I thought I would share it. It's great because you don't have to make the whole 15 oz box of cake mix and save the rest of the cake mix for later. If you are living alone like me.

Here's What you Need

1 cup  Moist Supreme® Devil's Food Cake Mix

⅓ cup water

3 tablespoons Vegetable Oil

1 egg

½ cup Pillsbury™ vanilla white frosting

Black food coloring or ½ cup melted chocolate chips

tooth picks

How to Make Spiderweb Cupcakes

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Line 6 muffin cups with paper baking cups.
  • Step 2S poon cake mix into 1-cup measure; level top with straight edge. Place in medium bowl. Add water, oil and egg. Beat with mixer on low speed until moistened. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes. Divide evenly into prepared muffin cups.
  • Step 3Bake 19 to 23 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan to wire rack to cool completely.
  •  Frost the cupcakes with the white frosting.  Tint the reserved frosting black.  Using a pastry bag, pipe the black frosting in a spider web pattern on the cupcakes. Draw lines down the middle of the circles to make a spiderweb.
