Homemade frozen yogurt can make a tasty and healthy treat in the Summer especially on really hot days. There are many flavors you can make using this method and if you don’t have an ice cream maker, that is perfectly ok! See how to make it below without one.

Healthy Frozen Yogurt

Greek Yogurt is zero points on myWW (blue and purple plans) and this is a real tasty and healthy zero-point treat if you don’t add any extra sugar to it.  Blended fruit is zero points if you eat it with a spoon. It only counts as points when you eat the blended fruit in a smoothie. Check WW site for more info and yes I know this is highly debated topic and people don’t agree with it.  I'll link an article down below for more info on this. It's about blended bananas and how you can make zero-point ice cream with it. The same goes for any other type of fruit.

Basic Zero Point Banana Icecream WW

How to make Frozen Yogurt

In a small saucepan, bring the sugar and fruit to a boil for 5 minutes. Cool Completely.

Combine greek yogurt and fruit in a food processor until blended and let chill overnight. Along with your ice cream maker attachment.

The next day, pour the yogurt into an ice cream maker and let it do it's magic. You'll have thick creamy yogurt in no time.

Frozen Yogurt Flavors

You can use this method to make other flavors of frozen yogurt and using frozen fruit is great for this. Give these flavors a try!  The base of the yogurt is simple - plain Greek Yogurt and frozen fruit defrosted. For pistachio, I’d chop up some nuts and use the same amount of sugar. For cheesecake or cake batter, I’d use some instant pudding to flavor the yogurt.

  • Mango
  • Peach
  • Tropical - stores have bags of mixed tropical fruit with papaya, mango, and pineapple in them.
  • Vanilla
  • Blueberry
  • Raspberry
  • Blackberry
  • Strawberry
  • Cheesecake or Cake Batter
  • Pistachio

No Ice Cream Maker

If you don’t have an ice cream maker that is ok! You don’t really need one.

Blend all the ingredients together with a food processor or blender. The fruit can be frozen! Then transfer the mixture to an airtight container and freeze it. Let the yogurt freeze up to 6 hours before it is ready to eat.

How to Store Frozen Yogurt

Use airtight containers for storing yogurt.
