My last post for this was a hit so I’d thought I’d make another one of these. My plan or goal is to do a new one each month. It’s also a nice change from the typical recipe post. Being a food blogger and trying new recipes, I find myself constantly going into apps like myfitnesspal and the WW recipe builder to figure out nutrition and points. I’m down 11 pounds and I’m finally below 160 now, which makes me happy.
Breakfast and Coffee! – 2 points
On some days, I will fast in the morning since I’m not really hungry. I get up in the morning. Dink around on my social media pages and answer any questions if there is any. Then I head off to the gym for water aerobics. My classes are at 8:30 and 9 and by the time I get home to eat it’s around 10:30 11 depending on some days. Love getting my workouts done in the morning.
Last weekend, I went to the Farmer’s Market and had my first iced latte. I added cinnamon and vanilla sugar syrup to it. That probably wasn’t the best choice but using almond milk and sugar-free syrups help bring down the points for a lot of coffee drinks. I’ve been living under a rock my whole life. I would always love the smell of coffee walking down the aisle at the grocery store but NEVER had it as a latte. It was just plain coffee. No wonder why I didn’t like it because now there are so many possible flavors you can add to your coffee.
Iced coffee and a caramel Premier Protein for breakfast is my new favorite since I’m not really hungry in the morning. This combo is only 2 points. You can find Premier Protein shakes at Sam’s Club or Costco. Wal-Mart, Target, and Walgreens are also supposed to sell these drinks. I have seen people do this on social media and now I know what all the fuss is about. It’s a very filling low point drink and the carbs are also low as well.
When you’re at a coffee shop just ask for a double espresso with ice in a large cup. Don’t go to Caribou coffee and ask for Venti or else the barista will get mad at you and tell you that she doesn’t know what a Venti is because she doesn’t work at Star Bucks. True story and it happened the first time I tried to order one. Doesn’t help much because it’s hard getting a newbie coffee drinker like me to get their order right.
FYI: I don’t drink these anymore after discovering that artificial sweeteners give me an upset stomach)
Lunch – 12 Points
Between 12 and 3 I’m usually doing some recipe testing for my blog. Lately, I’ve been remaking older recipes from 2010 to 2013 because a lot of those posts are missing pictures and updated points for them. I had a bowl of 0 point black bean soup and a Croque Monsieur sandwich for lunch. A Croque Monsieur is basically a ham and cheese sandwich with a bechamel sauce on top. If you’re really in a time crunch just skip the sauce and make a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. They are really easy to make in a skillet.
Whenever I find myself wanting a sandwich that I know is going to be kind of high in points, I’ll have a shake for breakfast in the morning so I’m able to have that. The sandwich was 12 points with the substitutions that I used and the black bean soup is zero.
Dinner – 7 Points
Dinner was a pork tenderloin with roasted carrots and potatoes and all of that was made on one sheet pan. Guys, I’m rediscovering all sorts of new food and recipes from my archives that I’m loving again like pork tenderloin! I’m a single gal living on my own and pork tenderloins are perfect for eating alone. You don’t have to go out and buy one of those huge expensive boston pork butts.

My snacks lately have been all over the place. I love the Peach Gummy Rings from Eat Smart Sweets or The Quest Protein Chips. I get those at GNC and they help keep the carbs low whenever I’m in a snacking mood.
And that my friends, is what I typically eat in a day. My points for the day are usually between 23 or 27 and if my calories are under 1800 calories a day I still lose weight. I also eat weeklies too but try not to eat all of them. I spread them through the week.

Somedays my stomach feels like a never-ending pit and I just eat all the snacks. If that happens, I track it and just move on. That kind of shit happens to us all on bad days.
