Description
Dubai Chocolate covered dates are a delightful and easy-to-make treat that combines the natural sweetness of dates with the rich taste of chocolate. These bites are perfect for a quick snack, dessert, or even as a gift.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 Medjool Dates - pitted
- 1 cup of Knafeh or Kataifeh
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- ¼ cup of pistachio butter
- 1 cup Dark Chocolate Chips - or milk chocolate if preferred
- 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil
- Sea Salt - for sprinkling
Instructions
- Prepare the Dates: Begin by carefully making a small slit in each date to remove the pit. You can use a small knife for this task.
- Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- While the chocolate is melting prepare the knafeh. Melt the butter in a pan and add the knafeh. Let it cook in the pan until it gets golden brown. Need to watch this step because if you walk away it can burn pretty easy.
- In a bowl mix the golden brown knafeh and pistachio butter until well combined. Then fill each date with about a tablespoon of the mixture.
- Dip the Dates: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each filled date into the melted chocolate, or drizzle the chocolate over the dates. Allow the excess chocolate to drip off before placing it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with Sea Salt: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle a small pinch of sea salt onto each chocolate-covered date for an extra flavor boost.
- Chill the Dates: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 20-30 minutes until the chocolate has set.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once the chocolate is firm, your chocolate covered dates are ready to be enjoyed. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
