Description

Learn how to make perfect, fluffy quinoa in the Instant Pot every time! This quick and easy recipe is ready in 15 minutes, meal prep friendly, and great for bowls, salads, and healthy sides.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup quinoa – any color works (white, red, black, or a mix)

1 1/2 cups water or broth – broth adds extra flavor

½ teaspoon salt (optional)

½ teaspoon oil (optional, helps prevent foaming)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the quinoa in a fine mesh strainer under cold water for at least 30 seconds. This removes the natural coating (saponin) that can make quinoa taste bitter.
  2. Add to Instant Pot – place rinsed quinoa, water or broth, salt, and oil (if using) into the pot.
  3. Seal & cook – close the lid, set the valve to Sealing, and pressure cook on High for 1 minute.
  4. Natural release – let pressure naturally release for 10 minutes, then carefully turn the valve to Venting to release any remaining steam.
  5. Fluff & serve – use a fork to fluff the quinoa before serving.

Notes

  • Fridge: Store cooled quinoa in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
