Description

If you have been seeing mac and cheese lasagna all over social media, you are not alone. This comfort food mashup is rich, cheesy, and surprisingly easy to make at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 8oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar of marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1 bag Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 Onion (optional)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Grease a baking dish lightly.
  2. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions and prepare the mac and cheese. Set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.
  4. Add onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in marinara sauce and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Start layering your lasagna. Add a layer of mac and cheese to the bottom of the dish.
  6. Add a layer of meat sauce, followed by slices of provolone.
  7. Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella on top.
  8. Bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes until bubbly and the cheese is melted.
  9. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes before serving so it holds together better.
