Ingredients

1 bag Frozen Mixed Berries

Refrigerated Sugar Cookie Dough (any brand)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly spray an eight by eight inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Layer the fruit: Pour the frozen mixed berries directly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish in an even layer. There is no need to thaw them first.
  3. Add the topping: Flatten pieces of the sugar cookie dough with your hands and place them evenly over the top of the berries. You can leave small gaps between the dough pieces to let the steam escape and allow the berries to bubble through.
  4. Bake to perfection: Place the dish in the oven and bake for forty to forty five minutes. The cobbler is done when the berry juices are thick and bubbling, and the cookie topping is completely golden brown. Let it cool for ten minutes before serving.

Notes

To get the absolute best results, avoid overlapping the cookie dough too thickly, or the center might stay raw.

If you notice the cookie top getting too dark before the forty minute mark, simply tent a piece of aluminum foil loosely over the baking dish to protect it while the berries finish bubbling.
