Description

This is pretty much the classic broccoli salad recipe people bring to potlucks and holiday gatherings. For your blog, you could easily make it more Weight Watchers-friendly by using light mayo and reducing the sugar.

Ingredients

Scale

4 cups fresh broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled

1/3 cup raisins or dried cranberries

1/3 cup sunflower seeds (or chopped nuts)

Dressing

1 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut the broccoli into small bite-sized pieces.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the broccoli, red onion, bacon, raisins (or cranberries), and sunflower seeds.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar, and apple cider vinegar until smooth.

  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss well to coat.

  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to blend.

Notes

Quick and easy to prepare in about 15 minutes.

Perfect make ahead side dish for parties and potlucks.

Crisp broccoli stays fresh and crunchy.
