Description
When the temperature drops and the days grow shorter, there’s nothing quite like a steaming bowl of chili to warm you up from the inside out. If you’re a fan of hearty, meat-filled dishes, then carnivore chili is your ticket to gastronomical bliss.
Ingredients
pounds ground beef: Choose a good quality beef for the best flavor.
1 pound ground pork: Adds richness and depth to the chili.
1 pound beef chuck, cut into small cubes: For a hearty texture.
3 tablespoons chili powder: Adjust according to your spice preference.
1 tablespoon cumin: For a warm, earthy flavor.
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper: Optional, for heat lovers.
1 cup beef broth: Enhances the meaty flavor.
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef and pork over medium heat. Once browned, remove from the pot and set aside.
- In the same pot, add the beef chuck cubes. Sear them until they are browned on all sides, then remove and set aside with the ground meats.
- Return all the meats to the pot and add the chili powder, cumin, and cayenne pepper. Stir well to coat the meats with the spices.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes (optional) and beef broth. Stir everything together, ensuring the ingredients are well combined. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours. Stir occasionally, allowing the flavors to deepen and the meats to become tender.
- Taste the chili and add salt and pepper as needed. Serve hot, garnished with your choice of toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, or freshly chopped cilantro.
Notes
- Opt for high-quality meats for the best flavor and texture. Consider visiting a local butcher for fresh cuts.
