Description

Easy Homemade Pickles - Refrigerator pickles are pickles that don't require any brining or boiling water. Instead of boiling water, the vinegar and sugar are mixed together in a bowl with the spices (salt and celery salt) and the pickles rest in a fridge until they are ready to eat. 


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of apple cidar vinegar
  • 2 cups of sugar (see notes above for lowering sugar content) 
  • 1/8th tsp salt 
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 onion
  • 5 pickling cucumbers

Instructions

  1. Slice cucumbers and onions very thin using a mandoline.
  2. Mix the vinegar, sugar, salt, and celery together in a large bowl.
  3. Place sliced cucumbers and onions in the bowl large bowl. Mix everything until well combined.
  4. Let the pickles rest in a refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Notes
