Description
This honey walnut shrimp recipe just got a makeover for the air fryer. If you’ve never had honey walnut shrimp before it’s a crispy deep fried shrimp tossed in a sweet honey sauce and it gets served with candied walnuts
Ingredients

- 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Kosher salt and freshly cracked pepper
- 4 egg whites, whisked
- 2/3 cup corn starch
- 1/4 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Scallions for Garnish
Instructions
- Mix egg whites and salt together in a bowl. Whisk until frothy and add in cornstarch. The mixture will thick and pasty.
- Season shrimp with salt and pepper and dip in the cornstarch mixture.
- Lay a sheet of parchment in your air fryer basket (this is not necessary but helps with spills). Place the shrimp in your air fryer basket.
- Set your air fryer to 330 degrees for 12 minutes shrimp.
- While the shrimp is cooking, make the sauce. Combine mayonnaise, condensed milk, and honey in a small bowl.
- Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan. Add sugar; cook until dissolved, about 1 minute. Add walnuts. Turn heat down to medium-low. Cook, stirring occasionally until syrup thickens and turns into a dark caramel color, 4 to 7 minutes.
