Description
Cooking grilled cheese on a Blackstone is simple and easy just like cooking Steak on a grill. It takes no time at all and you can cook your protein of choice next to it.
Ingredients
8 slices of bread
8 American Cheese Slices, singles
1 cup of mild chedddar cheese
4 tablespoons of butter
1 loaf of good crusty bread
Instructions
Preheat your griddle to medium heat. While it’s heating up, spread a generous layer of butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, on the griddle. Quickly add your cheese slices on top of the bread, ensuring they cover the bread evenly. If you're adding any extra fillings, layer them on top of the cheese. Finally, place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up.
Cook the sandwich for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Use a spatula to gently press down on the sandwich while it cooks to help the cheese melt evenly. Once both sides are perfectly toasted and the cheese is gooey, remove the sandwich from the griddle. Let it cool for a minute before slicing it in half and serving. Enjoy your delicious, homemade griddle grilled cheese!
Notes
- If the shredded cheese starts to escape from the sandwich and gets stuck on the grill or outside of the bread, just keep on cooking it on the griddle. The cheese will get nice and crusty stuck to the bread!
- Make a garlic butter to spread over the bread instead of regular butter.
- Try and test out a variety of different cheeses, there are endless amounts of cheeses in the supermarket today.
