Description

If you’re looking to elevate your plain hot ham and cheese sandwich check out this recipe! The sandwich is baked in the oven until the cheese is hot and bubbly and then a flavorful butter made with minced onion, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and butter gets brushed on top of the bun. I’ve been making my sandwiches this way ever since.

Ingredients

Scale

For the butter

  • 1 tbsp. dried minced onions
  • 2 tsp. prepared mustard
  • a splash or two of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2  tbsp. poppy seeds
  • 1 bottle of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray

For the sandwiches

  • 1 dozen dinner rolls
  • 12 slices of deli ham ham
  • 96% fat-free 12 Slices of Sargento Ultra Thin sliced Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a small mixing bowl mix onion, mustard, Worcestershire, and poppyseeds. Leaving the dinner rolls intact, slice them open so that you have one solid top and bottom.
  2. Place the bottom half on a baking sheet. Line the bottom half of the rolls with ham and cheese. Return the top part of the rolls and spray the butter evenly over top. Sprinkle with the seasoning.
  3. Cover with foil and bake for 15-20 minutes or till warmed through. Separate with a sharp knife and serve.
  4. Serving Size: 1 sandwich
