Ingredients Needed for Thanksgiving Sides
I know this list looks long, but its for 4 different recipes to be all made on one sheet pan and everything comes together so quickly I guarantee it! See substitution tips below
- 2 cans green beans
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 bag crispy onion strings
- 2 cans canned yams drained
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 half cup mini marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons chopped pecans
- 2 cans apple pie filling
- 1 half cup oats
- 1 half cup flour
- 1 quarter cup melted butter
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 bag baby carrots
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
Substitution Tips:
Honey works instead of maple syrup. Add cinnamon or thyme for extra flavor. You can also slice whole carrots if you do not have baby carrots.
Use fresh sliced apples if you prefer a homemade flavor. Add cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth. Gluten free flour or oats work well.
Fresh sweet potatoes are also great. Mash them and season the same way. You can replace the brown sugar with maple syrup. If you want it nut free skip the pecans.
Use fresh or frozen green beans if you prefer. Blanch them first so they soften while baking. You can swap cream of mushroom for cream of chicken or celery. Gluten free crispy onions work well too.
How To Make All Four Sides On One Sheet Pan
Step 1 Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a sheet pan with tinfoil and lightly spray with cooking spray.
Step 2 Mix each side dish in separate bowls:
Green Bean Casserole: Combine green beans, mushroom soup, and half the crispy onions.

Sweet Potatoes: Mix yams with melted butter and brown sugar. Transfer mixture to tinfoil dish and then Top the sweet potatoes with marshmallows and pecans. (any kind of nut will do)

Apple Crisp: Add canned apple pie filling to the tinfoil Container. In another small bowl, mix oats, flour, melted butter, and brown sugar for the crumble topping. Top the apple crisp with the oat crumble.

Glazed Carrots: Toss baby carrots with melted butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup. Transfer the bowl ingredients to a tinfoil pan.

Step 3 Transfer each mixture to its own section of the sheet pan.
Step 4 Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until everything is heated through and the toppings are golden.
Add remaining crispy onions to the green bean casserole during the last 5 minutes of baking.
Serving Suggestions
This sheet pan meal pairs well with turkey breast, rotisserie chicken, ham or even air fryer chicken tenders. Add store bought rolls or cranberry sauce for a complete holiday meal. These sides are ideal for a cozy Thanksgiving at home without doing a full feast.
Storage
Store leftovers in separate containers in the refrigerator. Reheat in the oven at 300 degrees until warm. The apple crisp reheats well in the air fryer because it keeps the topping crunchy.
Helpful Tips
- If you want the sweet potatoes extra smooth mash them before placing on the sheet pan
- For crispier carrots spread them into a single layer
- You can double the apple crisp topping if you like it thicker
- A rimmed sheet pan works best so nothing spills into the oven
