Peeps Cake

Happy Easter everyone! We all know the best part about Easter is the candy right? Just kidding! This cake is so fun and easy to make and you can even get your kids involved in the decorating. The pastel M&M's and Peeps marshmallows are just so gosh darn cute, aren't they?

There was a cake at my grocery store that inspired me to make this. The cake was a two-layer cake with marshmallow peeps around it and M&M's on top. They wanted 20.00 for the cake too, and my only thought was that is way too expensive! I made this cake for under 10.00 using boxed cake mix. Hope you like it!

Do any of you go to the grocery store the day after a Holiday to get discounted candy? Sometimes I do, but then again that leaves me with temptations in the house and I don't want to be eating a whole bag of candy.

What Ingredients do I need?

In this section, you can find substitutes or suggestions for certain ingredients. I also will try and list out what the ingredients' purpose is for.

Cake Mix  -  1 15.25oz box of any color or flavor of cake mix. The edges will get decorated with marshmallow peeps candy so it really doesn't matter what you use!

Frosting - I used white frosting but cream cheese frosting or even chocolate frosting will be good.

Pastel Peeps  - These are only available around Easter time and can be found at many grocery stores in the Holiday candy or places like Wal-Mart or Target

M&M’s - Only use pastel colors!

How to make Peeps Cake

Prepare and bake cake mix according to package directions, using two parchment-lined and greased 9-in. round baking pans. Cool in pans 10 minutes before removing to wire racks; remove the paper. Cool completely.

Spread white frosting between layers and over top and sides of cake.

Arrange bunny peeps around the side of the cakes alternating different colors.

On the top layer spread the pastel M&M’s all over the top. Slice into 8 equal pieces and enjoy.
