    What is Protein Pudding?

Protein pudding is a dessert-like snack made by incorporating protein powder into a traditional pudding base. The result is a thick, creamy, and smooth treat that offers the best of both worlds: the indulgent taste of pudding and the muscle-repairing benefits of protein. It's versatile, easy to make, and can be tailored to fit various dietary needs, including vegan, gluten-free, and low-sugar diets.

Why You Will Like Protein Pudding

This recipe is easy and only contains 2 ingredients. Anyone can make it!

High Protein Content: Protein is essential for muscle repair, growth, and overall body function. Protein pudding offers a significant protein boost, making it an excellent post-workout snack or a mid-day energy boost.

Protein is known for its satiating properties. Consuming protein pudding can help keep you full longer, reducing the likelihood of unhealthy snacking.

Depending on the ingredients used, protein pudding can be a nutrient-dense snack that provides vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

One of the best things about protein pudding is its versatility. You can customize it to your taste and dietary preferences by choosing different protein powders, sweeteners, and add-ins.

    How to Make Protein Pudding

Making protein pudding is incredibly simple and can be accomplished with just a few ingredients. Here’s a basic recipe to get you started:

    Ingredients Needed:

    • 2 cups of protein drink of choice (I used owyn)
    • 1 oz container of Vanilla Instant Pudding Mix (use sugar free pudding mix if you are keto or low carb)
    • See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

    Instructions (How to)

    1. In a mixing bowl combine the protein drink and instant pudding. Whisk well to combine. Place in the fridge to set and enjoy!

    Creative Variations

The beauty of protein pudding lies in its flexibility. Here are some creative variations to keep your taste buds excited:

    • Add even more protein options such as Greek Yogurt or chia seeds. Peanut Butter or even more Protein Powder would be great. I finally found protein powder that I like and it took a lot of trial and error.
    • Blend fresh or frozen berries into the mixture for a fruity twist. Top with more berries and a sprinkle of granola.
    • Add a tablespoon of peanut butter to the mixture. Top with dark chocolate shavings and a drizzle of melted peanut butter.
    • Mix in a teaspoon of instant coffee granules along with the cocoa powder for a mocha-flavored treat. Top with a sprinkle of cocoa powder.
    • Use coconut milk as the base and add mango or pineapple chunks. Garnish with shredded coconut.

Incorporating Protein Pudding into Your Diet

Protein pudding can be enjoyed at any time of the day. Here are some suggestions for incorporating it into your routine:

    • Breakfast Boost: Have it as part of your breakfast, paired with whole-grain toast or a smoothie.
    • Post-Workout Recovery: Enjoy a serving after your workout to help repair and build muscles.
    • Mid-Day Snack: Keep a portion in the fridge at work for a satisfying mid-day snack that will keep hunger at bay.
    • Healthy Dessert: Swap out traditional high-sugar desserts for protein pudding to enjoy a guilt-free treat.

    How do I store leftovers?

Always store leftovers in clean, food-grade containers. The type of container doesn’t really matter. Use zip lock, glass, plastic, whatever! Make sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container.
