If you love dumplings but don’t love the time it takes to fold them, this viral TikTok dumpling lasagna is about to become your new obsession.

It has all the things we crave in a good dumpling, which are juicy gingery meat, savory soy flavor, tender wrappers — but instead of pleating dozens of dumplings, you just mix, layer, and bake.

And yes… it’s as good as it looks all over your feed.

This trend blew up because it turns a traditionally labor-intensive dish into a 30-minute, low-effort comfort meal that still delivers the same cozy, umami-packed bite.

Why You’ll Love This Dumpling Lasagna

As someone who has tested a lot of viral recipes, this one is worth it because:

    • It tastes like a giant juicy dumpling
    • No folding or sealing wrappers
    • Weeknight easy
    • High-protein and filling
    • Perfect for meal prep

Traditional dumplings are delicious but time-consuming to assemble. This layered method gives you the same flavors in a faster, more approachable format.

    Ingredients Needed for Dumpling Lasagna

    • 1 pound ground turkey or ground pork
    • 2 scallions, chopped
    • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
    • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
    • 2 teaspoons chili onion crunch
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • Wonton wrappers (about 20–24)

    Optional for serving

    • Chili oil or chili crisp
    • Extra scallions
    • Soy sauce or dumpling sauce

How to Make the Viral Dumpling Lasagna

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly spray a small baking dish (8×8 works great) with nonstick spray.

Make the filling. In a medium bowl, combine: ground turkey or pork, chopped scallions, ginger, garlic, chili onion crunch, soy sauce. Mix until just combined.

    Dumpling layer in bowl.

Start the layers. Spread a thin, even layer of the meat mixture on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Dumpling mixture on top of layers.

Add wonton wrappers. Place a single layer of wonton wrappers over the meat, slightly overlapping if needed.

Repeat the layers. Continue layering, meat mixture, wonton wrappers
until everything is used, finishing with a layer of meat on top.

    1. Bake.Cover loosely with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 10–15 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked and the edges of the wontons are lightly golden.
    2. Rest & serve. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes before slicing.

Optional for serving (highly recommended for blog appeal 😉)

    • Drizzle with extra chili crunch
    • Soy sauce or dumpling sauce
    • Sriracha or chili oil
    • Sprinkle with more scallions

Pro Tips (From Testing This Recipe)

These are the little things that make it turn out amazing instead of just “good”:

    • Ground pork = the juiciest, most authentic dumpling flavor
    • Ground turkey = leaner and great for high-protein meals
    • Don’t overpack the meat layers — thin layers cook more evenly
    • Use a pizza cutter for clean slices
    • Want it extra juicy? Add 2–3 tablespoons water or broth before baking

That added liquid mimics the steamy, juicy texture dumplings are known for.

What Does Dumpling Lasagna Taste Like?

It tastes like: Basically — comfort food meets takeout.

    And the best part?
No one is fighting over the last dumpling because you get a whole pan.

Where do I find wonton wrappers?

They’re in the refrigerated section near tofu or produce.

    Can I make it ahead?

Yes — assemble, refrigerate, and bake when ready.
