    Why This Works

    • No thawing required.
    • Crispy outside and juicy inside.
    • Ready in about 12 minutes.
    • Perfect for busy weeknights.
    • Great for kids and adults.
    • Easy to pair with many different side dishes.

    Ingredients Needed

    • Frozen chicken bites - Use your favorite brand of fully cooked frozen chicken bites. Breaded or lightly breaded varieties both work well in the air fryer.
    • Dipping sauce (optional) - Serve with ranch, honey mustard, barbecue sauce, buffalo sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce.
    • Fresh parsley (optional) - Adds a little color before serving.

How to Make Chicken Bites in Air Fryer

How to make chicken bites in air fryer.
    1. Preheat the air fryer to 370 degrees F if your air fryer recommends preheating.
    2. Place the frozen chicken bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket.
    3. Air fry at 370 degrees F for 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
    4. Once the chicken bites are hot and crispy, carefully remove them from the air fryer.
    5. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces or side dishes.

Pro Tips for Chicken Bites in Air Fryer

    • Shake the basket halfway through cooking for even crispiness.
    • Cook in a single layer for the best results.
    • Add 1 to 2 extra minutes if you like your chicken extra crispy.
    • Different brands may vary slightly in cooking time, so check the package instructions as a guide.
    • Serve immediately while the coating is still crispy.

    Storage

Store leftover chicken bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

To reheat, place them back into the air fryer at 350 degrees F for 3 to 4 minutes until heated through and crispy again.

Freezing leftovers is generally not recommended since the chicken was already frozen before cooking.

    Serving Suggestions

These air fryer chicken bites are delicious on their own with your favorite dipping sauces, but they also make a great addition to wraps, salads, and bowls.

One of my favorite ways to enjoy them is in a Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Toss the cooked chicken bites in buffalo sauce, then wrap them in a large flour tortilla with:

    • Pineapple tidbits
    • Chopped lettuce
    • Shredded cheddar cheese
    • Ranch dressing

They aso pair well on top of Ina Garten Mac and Cheese! Or try the following:

    • French fries
    • Sweet potato fries
    • Mac and cheese
    • Coleslaw
    • Steamed broccoli

They are also delicious served with ranch, honey mustard, barbecue sauce, buffalo sauce, or Chick-fil-A style sauce.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I cook chicken bites straight from frozen?

Yes. There is no need to thaw them first. Simply place them directly into the air fryer.

Do I need to spray chicken bites with oil?

No. Most frozen chicken bites already contain enough oil in the coating to become crispy in the air fryer.

How do I know when chicken bites are done?

They should be hot throughout with a crispy exterior. If using raw frozen chicken bites, verify they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.

Can I stack the chicken bites?

For the crispiest results, cook them in a single layer. If needed, cook in batches.

    What dipping sauces taste best?

Ranch, honey mustard, barbecue sauce, buffalo sauce, sweet and sour sauce, and garlic aioli are all great options.
