Here we go with another TIktok Trend and Italian Sushi is a trend that I can actually get behind and this is a great idea for an easy no bake appetizer. I’m a sucker for trying anything on Tiktok that is trending in the food section like the Strawberry Salsa and this Italian Sushi.

Man it is worth a trip to the grocery store to get all the ingredients for this too. Which I all got at Aldi by the way. I hope you enjoy this recipe just as much as I did.

    What is Italian Sushi?

It's a bunch of Italian ingredients like Arugula, Burrata cheese,sun-dried tomatoes that get wrapped up in Italian Deli Meats. Then it gets cut to look like sushi rolls. It's the most genius thing I've tried on TikTok, and I just love the combination of flavors.

    Why Italian Sushi?

The combination of prosciutto and salami with the sun-dried tomatoes and burrata cheese just go extremely well together. It’s a nice balance of flavors.

This isn't sushi at all, but these Chicken Tortilla Rollups are kind of made in a similar style.

If you’re looking for a different type of appetizer to make that isn’t your same old boring pretzels and cheese sauce or BBQ cocktail weiners, then you need to try this and up your appetizer game. It’s a game-changer.

I got everything and all the ingredients from Aldi, besides the sun-dried tomatoes. Was totally surprised to see buratta cheese there (They have an extremely nice meat and cheese selection where you can get most of the ingredients for this recipe there.)

    Ingredients Needed for Italian Sushi

    • 8 slices of thinly sliced Proscuitto
    • 8 slices of Salami
    • ¾ cup Baby Arugula - or baby spinach
    • 6 Sun Dried Tomatoes
    • 1 Buratta Cheese ball - torn into pieces
    • Balsamic Glaze for Drizzle

    How to Make Italian Sushi

Step 1 Place the prosciutto on top of a cutting board or any type of flat surface in a nice thin layer. Then place the salami on top of it. Make sure each piece of prosciutto overlaps the other.

Step 2 At the top of the prosciutto, spread out the arugula and then place the sun dried tomatoes and buratta cheese next to the arugula. You can place this in the middle or at the top it doesn’t matter. Just as long as you can fold the prosciutto over this.

Step 3 Drizzle the lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese with balsamic dressing.

Step 4 Gently start to roll the prosciutto over the arugula to form a log. Then thinly slice the sushi into small pieces, so that it resembles sushi.

Can we just call it antipasto and not mess with Italian tradition?
