If you haven’t heard by now Starbucks released 2 new drinks this week. The Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso and the Chocolate Almond Milk Shaken Espresso. I tried the Brown Sugar Oatmilk drink and the taste reminded me of a snickerdoodle or cinnamon roll. The pic above is pretty much what the drink looks like when it's all mixed together.

Why You Will Like This Recipe
It's much cheaper to make your own Drinks at home! I see some people on the Internet were complaining that $6.00 is a lot for this drink (and I kind of agree with that). It can be easily made at home if you have all the proper equipment and ingredients to make it.
My whole life I never liked coffee and I was never a Starbucks fan until the year 2020. In 2020 I became really addicted to Starbucks and Tiktok. Probably because of all the other Starbucks fans on Tiktok. A lot of the videos I watch on that app, people always have a Starbucks drink in their hand.
What Espresso machine do I use?
I have a Nepresso Pixie machine and purchased the Starbucks pods. The Blonde Espresso roast is one of the pod flavors. Just brew 2 shots of that and shake it up with some brown sugar (as little or as much as you like) and pour some Oatmilk over the espresso.
Ingredients for Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso
Shots of Espresso - I used the Blonde Roast pods. You can also use some really strong coffee of choice.
Dark Brown Sugar - Instead of using brown sugar you can easily make brown sugar syrup at home or purchase the brown sugar syrups online. Amazon also has a Sugar-Free brown sugar syrup.
Oatmilk - Any type of non-dairy milk will work but Starbucks uses the Oatly brand. Purchase something similar here. Since sharing this recipe, I really like Fair Life lactose free milk. It adds a boost of Protein to the coffee in the morning.
Ground Cinnamon - Don’t need much just a sprinkle of it on top. (optional)
Vanilla syrup - It is made by macerating and soaking vanilla beans in a mixture of water and Vodka. Use a good pure vanilla instead of the imitation vanilla extract.
How to make Brown Sugar Oatmilk Espresso
Step 1: Brew 2 shots of espresso and set aside.
Step 2: In a cocktail shaker or glass jar with a handle, add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of hot water. Shake until the sugar dissolves. Pour the espresso shots into the shaker.
Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds.
Having the Perfect Coffee Bar at Home!
Here are a few items to always have on hand whenever you want to make the perfect cup of coffee at home!
Espresso Machine - This electric espresso maker has single shot and double shot, and the extraction will stop automatically when the right coffee strength is reached. And it has a strict temperature control system to make your coffee taste perfect.
Flavored Syrups - There are two main different brands for buying flavored coffee syrups. Monin or Torani. Make sure to look for the correct bottle size and brand size when purchasing. These syrups can be used in other drinks such as Italian sodas, smoothies, and more!
Pumps - High quality pumps that are ideal for dispensing any kind of flavoring syrups
Fun Glasses - I like these cute beer bottle glasses that come with a lid.
Recipe FAQs
Usually, my favorite thing to order with a drink at Starbucks is their Sausage and Egg Breakfast Sandwich or the Sous VIde egg bites.
The brown sugar shaken espresso at Starbucks has Oatmilk, 4 pumps of brown sugar syrup, 3 shots of blonde espresso, and cinnamon powder.
The baristas at Starbucks have mentioned they only use 4 half pumps of syrup and not the regular full pumps it normally gets. I also like to add in 2 more pumps of the syrup to make it sweeter.
This can be prepped the day ahead? Yes it can, just make some espresso the day before so all the ingredients are ready and keep it cool in the fridge.
