Why You’ll Love This Air Fryer Stir Fry

I'm seriously not a big fan of tofu and having it weekly mixed in a stir fry like this is the only way I'll eat it. You'll also want to make this on a weekly rotation like this Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breast. Frozen mixed vegetables are a life saver.

    • 🥢 No stove required – Great for hot days or lazy nights
    • ⏱️ Ready in about 20 minutes, you will want to add this to your weekly weeknight rotation. Change up the protein and sauce used.
    • 🥦 Veggie-packed – Use whatever you have on hand
    • 💪 High protein, low oil
    • 💰 Budget-friendly – Especially if you shop at Aldi like I do!

Ingredients Needed for Air Fryer Stir Fry

    • 1 lb chicken breast, shrimp or cubed tofu (or thin-sliced steak or shrimp) – cut into bite-size pieces
    • 1 bag mixed frozen stir-fry veggies – broccoli, peppers, snap peas, carrots
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil – just enough to coat
    • 3 tablespoon hoisin sauce or sauce of choice - Japanese BBQ Sauce is also good or an Orange stir fry sauce.
    • Optional: Cooked rice

    Substitution Tips

    • Protein: Try thin-sliced beef, tofu, tempeh, or shrimp. Just adjust the cook time slightly.
    • Veggies: Anything goes—zucchini, mushrooms, frozen stir-fry blend, or pre-chopped bags. Make this Blackstone Fried Rice as a base instead of plain white rice.
    • Sauce: Coconut aminos instead of soy sauce, or skip hoisin for less sugar.
    • Any marinade will be good with this combo like Easy 3 Ingredient Grilled Italian Chicken Marinade.
    • Oil-Free? Use a light spray of avocado oil or skip entirely and toss with extra sauce post-air fryer.

How to Make Air Fryer Stir-Fry

Step 1 Press your tofu (extra firm is best) for 10–15 minutes to remove excess moisture.

Step 2 Cut into 1-inch cubes. Toss in 1–2 teaspoon oil, soy sauce, and seasonings (like garlic powder, smoked paprika, cornstarch for extra crisp).

Step 3 Air fry at 400°F for 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway. Half way through add the frozen mixed vegetables on the side and continue cooking.

Step 4 Done when golden and crispy on the outside, soft in the middle. Add your sauce or seasoning of choice and mix everything in the air fryer. Enjoy with a side of rice.

WW Points (per serving, makes 4 servings)

    • Oil: 1 tablespoon = 4 points total → 1 point per serving
    • Hoisin sauce: ~2 points total → 0.5 per serving

🟢 Estimated: 1.5 WW points per serving

    Serving Suggestions

    • Serve over jasmine or brown rice
    • Top with sriracha or a drizzle of sesame oil
    • Pair with an egg roll or air fryer dumplings for a takeout-style meal at home

    Recipe FAQS

Can I use frozen veggies for this sti fry?

Yes! Just pat them dry and add them in after the chicken has cooked for 6–7 minutes. You may need to add 2–3 minutes to cook time.

How do I keep it from getting soggy?

Don’t overcrowd the basket—air needs to circulate. If making a big batch, do it in two rounds.

Can I meal prep this stir fry?

Absolutely. It reheats beautifully in the microwave or air fryer at 350°F for 3–4 minutes. It also is just really easy to make the day of.
