Fried rice made on a Blackstone is a delicious and simple dish that can be made in under a few minutes with the help of pre-cooked rice.
I just recently got a Blackstone Griddle (22 inches) and I'm completely obsessed with it. The first meal I attempted to cook on the Blackstone was a Hibachi Style meal. It really beats going to a Hibachi restaurant and spending $20 to $30 for a meal when you can easily make it at home on a Blackstone. This recipe is seriously so good it gets made about every other week now. It's definitely one of those recipes that are on rotation.
Fried rice is really easy to make as well, with leftover day old rice or just by using a Microwave 90 second rice packet. Thiis is also an all Aldi recipe.
If you love cooking on your Blackstone like I do try How to Cook Bacon on a Blackstone, or Blackstone Pancakes (High Protein).

Ingredients Needed
- Cooked rice - Use leftover day old rice or get a 90 second packet of rice at Target or the grocery store.
- Butter - I always use unsalted room temperature butter, or use a good organic extra virgin olive oil.
- Frozen mixed vegetables- The great thing about using frozen mixed vegetables is that they don't take long to cook on a griddle at all.
- Eggs - I always use large eggs.
- Soy sauce - Use a Low Sodium or if you don’t have that on hand go for Tamari or Coconut Amino Acids
- Salt and pepper to taste
- See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat.
Step 2: Melt the butter on the griddle, then add the cooked rice to the griddle and mix everything together.
Step 3: Add the frozen mixed vegetables. Cook for another 1-2 minutes. Drizzle the soy sauce over the rice and mix well. I usually like to do this to taste.
Step 4: Push the vegetables and rice to the side of the griddle and add another tablespoon of oil to the empty area. Crack the eggs onto the griddle and scramble them. Once cooked, mix them in with the vegetables and rice. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 5: Cook for another 3-4 minutes until everything is heated through and the rice is slightly crispy.
Serve hot and enjoy!

Recipe FAQS
Yes, it is recommended to preheat a griddle before using it. The preheating time may vary depending on the type of griddle and the desired cooking temperature, but a general rule of thumb is to preheat for about 5-10 minutes.
A Blackstone Griddle is a type of outdoor cooking equipment that features a flat cooking surface made of steel. It is designed to cook a variety of foods such as pancakes, eggs, bacon, burgers, and vegetables.
The first thing I made on my Blackstone was a complete Hibachi meal with fried rice, chicken, and vegetables. Some popular options include burgers, bacon, pancakes, and scrambled eggs. Make sure to properly season the griddle before cooking and use a high smoke point oil to prevent sticking.
Clean the griddle with soap and water and dry it thoroughly.
Apply a thin layer of oil (vegetable oil, flaxseed oil, or canola oil) all over the griddle surface.
Heat the griddle on high heat for about 15-20 minutes or until the oil starts to smoke.
Turn off the heat and let the griddle cool down completely.
Repeat steps 2-4 for a total of 2-3 times to create a non-stick layer on the griddle surface.
