Why You Will this Ninja Creami Blueberry Ice Cream

So I’m lactose intolerant and I finally found a protein shake that I actually like and doesn’t leave any weird aftertaste. They had OWYN plant based protein shakes at Target and I picked one up.

This is by far my most favorite vanilla base combo yet. I blended an OWYN protein shake with ½ cup of Greek Yogurt and 3 tablespoons of vanilla pudding. It did need a respin on the first try so I added some protein shake to it.

If you don’t want vanilla try a pudding mix like pistachio, chocolate, or cheesecake flavor ice pudding mix. There are so many varieties to try!

Ingredients Needed Ninja Creami Blueberry Ice Cream

    • 1 bottle of of vanilla OWYN protein shake - If you aren’t lactose intolerant like me use your favorite bottle of vanilla protein shake.
    • ½ cup of Vanilla Greek Yogurt
    • 3 tablespoons of Instant Cheesecake Pudding Mix
    • ½ cup of fresh or frozen blueberries - Fresh blueberries work wonderfully in this recipe, but frozen blueberries can also be used. They provide the main fruit flavor and natural color.
    • See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

How to Make Ninja Creami Blueberry Ice Cream

Step 1 Blend the protein shake, yogurt, frozen fruit, and instant vanilla pudding powder in a blender such as Magic bullet.

Step 2 Pour the blended mix/shake into a Ninja Creami Pint. Set in freezer for 24 hours

Step 3 Press the Ice Cream option on the Ninja Creami blender and spin. Respin if necessary.

Pro Tips for Blueberry Ice Cream

Make sure the Creami pint freezes on a completely level surface. An uneven frozen base can make it harder for the machine to process the mixture evenly.

For the strongest blueberry flavor, use ripe blueberries. If your berries are especially tart, you can add a little extra sugar to taste.

If the finished ice cream is crumbly after the first cycle, do not worry. This is common with Ninja Creami recipes. Simply use the Re-Spin function until the texture becomes creamy.

For blueberry chunks, reserve a few blueberries and add them using the Mix-In function after processing the ice cream.

    Storage

Keep the prepared Ninja Creami pint covered and stored in the freezer. If you have leftovers after processing, smooth the surface before returning the pint to the freezer.

For the best texture and flavor, enjoy the ice cream within a few weeks.

    Serving Suggestions

Serve this blueberry ice cream in a bowl or waffle cone with fresh blueberries on top. A little blueberry sauce makes a delicious topping and adds even more berry flavor.

You can also add whipped cream, crushed graham crackers, white chocolate chips, or chopped nuts. For a fun dessert, serve a scoop alongside a warm blueberry crisp or cobbler.

Can I put frozen fruit into a Ninja Creami Pint?

No the manual that came with the Ninja Creami recommends that you do not use that. You need to blend it first so the machine lasts longer.

Why is my Ninja Creami ice cream crumbly?

A crumbly texture after the first processing cycle is normal for many Creami recipes. Use the Re-Spin function to make the ice cream smoother and creamier.

    Popular Ninja Creami Variations:

    • Ninja Creami Vanilla Ice Cream - 1 tablespoon cream cheese, ⅓ cup sugar, ¾ cup heavy cream, 1 cup milk, 3-4 sandwich or Oreo cookies.
    • Protein Ice Cream - 1 container of Chocolate or Vanilla Fair Life Protein Drink
    • Ninja Creami Cherry Sorbet
    • Ninja Creami Sorbet Ice Cream - 1 15 oz container of fruit cocktail + Plus
    • Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream - 1 tablespoon cream cheese, ⅓ cup sugar, ¾ cup heavy cream, 1 cup milk, 1 - 2 drops of green food coloring, 2 tablespoons of chopped chocolate chips
    • Ninja Creami Gelato
    • Ninja Creami Birthday Cake Ice Cream

    Enjoy exploring these delightful flavors!

    How do I store leftovers?

Place the lid back on top of the pint and place it back in the freezer. Or, store in an airtight container as mentioned above.
