    • High protein dessert option
    • Lower calorie than traditional ice cream
    • Easy to customize flavors
    • Great for post workout snacks
    • Beginner friendly Ninja Creami recipes

Method 1: Protein Drink Ice Cream (Easiest Option)

Using a ready to drink protein shake is the simplest way to make Ninja Creami protein ice cream. This method is perfect for beginners and produces a smooth soft serve style texture. I've tested this method with normal protein powder and vegan style protein powder and both work fine. My favorite brand of Vegan protein powder is OWYN.

Protein ice cream made with protein drinks.
    • How to make it - Pour one bottled protein shake into the Ninja Creami pint container. Freeze on a flat surface for at least 12 hours. Spin using the Lite Ice Cream or Ice Cream setting. Re spin once if needed for a creamier consistency.
    • Texture - Light, airy, and smooth. Very similar to soft serve.
    • Flavor ideas - Chocolate protein shake, Vanilla protein shake, Strawberry protein shake
    • Tip - If you don't have protein bottles use 2 scoops of protein powder and 8 oz of milk. (Any kind)

Method 2: Greek Yogurt Protein Ice Cream (Healthy and Tangy)

Greek yogurt creates a thicker frozen yogurt style dessert that is naturally high in protein. This option is great if you prefer a slightly tangy flavor and a lighter texture.

Method 3: Cottage Cheese Protein Ice Cream (Ultra Creamy Trend)

Cottage cheese protein ice cream made in Ninja Creami.

Blended cottage cheese has become very popular for protein desserts because it creates a rich ice cream like texture. This method works well for anyone who wants a higher protein dessert that feels indulgent.

    • How to make it - Blend cottage cheese until completely smooth. Add protein powder or sweetener if desired. Freeze in the Ninja Creami pint container. Spin using the Ice Cream setting and re spin as needed.
    • Texture - Dense, creamy, and very close to traditional ice cream.
    • Flavor ideas - Chocolate peanut butter, Cookies and cream, Vanilla almond

How to Fix Powdery Protein Ice Cream

If your protein ice cream looks crumbly after the first spin, this is normal. Protein desserts do not contain as much fat as regular ice cream.

    To fix the texture
Let the frozen pint sit at room temperature for five minutes before spinning.
Run the Re Spin function one or two times.
Add one tablespoon of milk or water if needed.

These simple adjustments help create a smoother scoop.

Best Protein Powders for Ninja Creami

Whey protein usually creates the creamiest texture. Plant based protein can work but may require more liquid. Vanilla and chocolate flavors tend to freeze well and pair easily with mix ins.

    Storage Tips

Protein ice cream is best enjoyed right after spinning. If you refreeze leftovers, allow the pint to sit on the counter for ten minutes before running the Re Spin cycle again.

    Enjoy exploring these delightful flavors!

    Description

Protein ice cream made in a Ninja Creami machine is a delicious, healthy treat that is perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth while also fueling your body. With the addition of protein powder, you can boost the nutritional value of your ice cream while still enjoying the creamy, smooth texture that the Ninja Creami machine creates.

    Ingredients

    Scale
    • 2 scoops Owyn protein powder (or any plant-based or whey protein powder)

    • 8 oz chocolate almond milk (or Ripple plant-based milk for extra protein)

    • ยฝ tsp vanilla extract (optional, for enhanced flavor)

    • 1-2 teaspoon sweetener of choice (optional, for extra sweetness)

    • Pinch of salt (balances the flavors)

    Instructions

    1. Blend Ingredients โ€“ In a shaker bottle or blender, mix all ingredients until smooth. This ensures the protein powder dissolves properly, avoiding any chalky texture.

    2. Freeze the Mixture โ€“ Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container and freeze for at least 24 hours.

    3. Process in the Ninja Creami โ€“ Insert the frozen pint into the Ninja Creami and select the "Lite Ice Cream" or "Soft Serve" setting.

    4. Re-spin if Needed โ€“ If the ice cream is too crumbly or icy, add 1-2 tablespoon almond milk and use the โ€œRe-spinโ€ function for a smoother texture.

    Notes

Enjoy! Scoop and serve as-is, or add toppings like sugar-free chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or a drizzle of nut butter.
