I used to be completely obsessed with the show The Walking Dead which prompted me to make this Zombie Meatloaf. This was back in 2014 and now I’m not interested in the show anymore. I really lost interest when Negan came on cause I didn’t like his bat and certain characters were dying that I just loved. Does anybody still even watch this show?

Zombie meatloaves are fun to make because you can play around with certain ingredients to make it super zombie-like. Use ketchup for blood, olives or dates for eyes, onions for peeling skin, etc. Be creative with it and have some fun. Make this for Halloween or scary movie marathon night.

    What Ingredients do I need?

    • 2 pounds of 93% lean ground beef or any type of ground beef
    • Bread crumbs - 1 cup of panko bread crumbs
    • Large Eggs - 2 large eggs
    • Minced onion
    • Grlic powder and Dried parsley for seasoning
    • Stubbs Reduced Sugar BBQ Sauce - or your favorite BBQ sauce
    • Salt and Pepper to taste
    •  Thinly sliced bacon
    • Bottle of ketchup - this is the blood
    • Sliced Onions - cut these into smaller cubes
    • Dates for the eyes - black olives will also work for eyes or slices of onions

    How to Make Zombie Meatloaf

    Preheat Oven to 350 degrees.

For the Meatloaf: Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, minced onions,  garlic powder, parsley, BBQ Sauce, and salt and pepper in medium sized bowl. Place the meat mixture on top of some tinfoil and shape the meat into a loaf.

Decorate the meatloaf:  Place two dates for eyes on the top half of the meatloaf. Add sliced onions for the teeth and wrap strips of bacon around the empty portions of the meatloaf. See ingredients list for other eyeball options you can use)

Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until cooked through.

Spread ketchup over the top of the meatloaf to make it look bloody.

Oh how fun! I made a meatloaf hand once, with onions as the finger nails. A face with bacon is even better!
