Why You Will Like the Ninja Creami
- Ninja Creamiโs can make smoothie bowls, ice cream, gelato, sorbet, and even milkshakes!
- If the blending didnโt work the first time try adding some more juice or milk to it and do a second respin.
- For sorbets use canned fruit or fresh fruit. It just doesnโt make any sense to defrost frozen fruit and then refreeze it in the Ninja Creami machine.
- Find a good base ice cream for vanilla and you can add whatever toppings you like to the ice cream for mix ins.
- The Ninja Creami is kind of loud when it is spinning in the machine. Just warning you before you attempt to make ice cream. ๐
- Protein drinks like Fairlife and Premiere work great in a Ninja Creami.
- This is the Ninja Creami machine I have. Ninja CN301CO CREAMi Ice Cream Maker (Amazon Link)
Ingredients Needed for Vanilla Ice Cream
- Cream Cheese - the whipped cream cheese works very well for this if you don't want to mix it. Make sure it's room temperature.
- Heavy Cream - To make this ice cream dairy free use dairy free milk same goes for milk.
- Milk - 2% or 1 % milk
- Sugar - Or regular granulated sugar, I do not use sugar substitutes in any of my recipes but if you know the conversions feel free to do so
- Vanilla Extract - Use fresh vanilla beans or vanilla extract (whatever one you have!
- Optional: a few fresh mint leaves for garnish
- See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.
How to Make Vanilla Ice Cream in Ninja Creami
Step 1: In a bowl add the cream and place it in the microwave for 24 seconds. Add the sugar, and vanilla, Stir well to combine. I just used a fork to stir this.

Step 2: Then mix in the heavy cream and milk. Pour into Ninja Creami Pint.

Step 3: Set the pint in the freezer for 24 hours.

Step 4: When the ice cream is ready use the ice cream setting on your Ninja Creami machine. Respin if the top looks too crumbly and add more milk if necessary!
Best Milk to Use for Vanilla Ice Cream
The type of milk you use can change the texture of your vanilla ice cream.
Here are some common options and how they affect the final result:
| Milk Type | Texture Result |
| Whole milk | Creamy but lighter ice cream |
| Milk + heavy cream | Rich and scoopable texture |
| Ultra-filtered milk (like Fairlife) | Smooth and higher protein |
| Almond milk or oat milk | Lighter, slightly icy texture |
For a classic vanilla ice cream texture, many people like using whole milk with a splash of heavy cream.
Dairy-Free Ninja Creami Vanilla Ice Cream
If you prefer a dairy-free Ninja Creami vanilla ice cream, you can still achieve a creamy texture by using a plant-based protein powder and almond milk. My favorite is Ripple. You can also use coconut or cashew milk.
Plant protein powder helps create structure and improves scoopability after spinning. Ripple milk is higher in protein and fat than many other plant milks, which helps prevent an icy or crumbly texture. Almond milk keeps the base lighter but may require an extra re-spin to reach a smooth consistency.
For best results, freeze the base completely flat in the pint container and use the Lite Ice Cream or Ice Cream setting, followed by one or two re-spins as needed.
Why Dairy-Free Ninja Creami Ice Cream Can Turn Crumbly
Dairy-free bases often contain less fat than traditional ice cream mixtures. Since the Ninja Creami shaves frozen bases rather than churning them, lower fat content can lead to a powdery or crumbly texture after the first spin.
To fix this:
- Add 1โ3 tablespoons of plant milk before re-spinning
- Use a milk with higher protein or fat, such as Ripple or coconut milk
- Avoid over-freezing the base for multiple days without covering

Recipe FAQS
No, absolutely not! It depends on your fitness goals and the type of recipe you are looking.
Yes you sure can! Instead of regular milk use almond or oat milk.
This usually means the base is low in fat or protein. Add liquid and re-spin.

Storage and Leftovers
Always store leftovers in clean, food-grade containers. The type of container doesnโt really matter. Use zip lock, glass, plastic, whatever! Make sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container.
Place the lid back on top of the pint and place it back in the freezer. Or, store in an airtight container as mentioned above.
