I have been struggling trying to come up with the best dairy free version of a Ninja Creami and this week I finally did it. Trust me when I’ve tried every type of lactose free milk like almond or oatmilk and it would always come out icy.
Plus, I’ve been searching high and low for the best dairy-free protein drinks and powder and I think I finally found them. It’s a brand called OWYN (not sponsored). This protein drink is a plant based protein shake, that has 35 g of protein, 9 Amino Acids, Omega-3, Prebiotics, Superfoods Greens for Workout and Recovery, 0g Net Carbs, Zero Sugar, Keto. How can you not go wrong with that?
Plus, it is so fun eating ice cream for breakfast! This is only 3 points on Weight Watchers. I'm so impressed with how creamy this turned out after the respin.

Dairy-free Ninja Creami ice cream also needs some kind of binder and that is why I always use Instant Pudding. You can also use items like gaur gum.
Whether you prefer ice cream in a cone, a bowl, or as part of a creative dessert, blueberry ice cream is a versatile and delectable treat that brings a touch of summer to your taste buds year-round.

Why You Will this Ninja Creami Dairy Free Ice Cream
So I’m lactose intolerant and I finally found a protein shake that I actually like and doesn’t leave any weird aftertaste. They had OWYN plant based protein shakes at Target and I picked one up.
This is by far my most favorite vanilla base combo yet. I blended an OWYN protein shake with ½ cup of Greek Yogurt and 3 tablespoons of vanilla pudding. It did need a respin on the first try so I added some protein shake to it.
If you don’t want vanilla try a pudding mix like pistachio, chocolate, or cheesecake flavor ice pudding mix. There are so many varieties to try!
Ingredients Needed Ninja Creami Dairy Free Ice Cream
1 bottle of vanilla OWYN protein shake - If you aren’t lactose intolerant like me use your favorite bottle of vanilla protein shake.
½ cup of Greek Yogurt - Greek yogurt doesn't have much lactose in it you can also use a dairy free yogurt if you can find them.
3 tablespoons of Instant vanilla pudding mix (sugar free)
½ cup of fresh or frozen blueberries (for toppings, optional)
- See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.
How to Make Ninja Creami Dairy Free Ice Cream
Step 1 Blend the protein shake, yogurt, and instant vanilla pudding powder in a blender such as Magic bullet.
Step 2 Pour the blended mix/shake into a Ninja Creami Pint. Set in freezer for 24 hours
Step 3 Press the Ice Cream option on the Ninja Creami blender and spin. Poke a hole down the middle with a knife and add some more milk if the top is crumbly. Then respin.

Garnish with fresh blueberries or your choice of toppings. I just took some frozen berries and microwaved them in a bowl for 1 minute and let them sit. Easy fresh berry sauce!
Ninja Creami Dairy Free Recipe FAQS
No the manual that came with the Ninja Creami recommends that you do not use that. You need to blend it first so the machine lasts longer.
The best sweetener for Ninja Cream is probably natural sugars like sugar, brown sugar, or honey.
Granulated Sugar – Provides the best texture but adds calories.
Brown Sugar – Adds a deeper, caramel-like flavor.
Honey or Maple Syrup – Natural options that enhance flavor but may slightly alter texture.
You need to add some kind of fat or binder! Thats why people like to use pudding mix in their Creami’s. Using too much water-based liquid (like almond milk or skim milk) instead of higher-fat options. Add heavy cream, full-fat coconut milk, half-and-half, or Greek yogurt to improve texture. Sorbets are going to be a chalky consistency so you have to respin and add more orange juice or water.
Popular Ninja Creami Variations:
- Ninja Creami Vanilla Ice Cream - 1 tablespoon cream cheese, ⅓ cup sugar, ¾ cup heavy cream, 1 cup milk, 3-4 sandwich or Oreo cookies.
- Protein Ice Cream - 1 container of Chocolate or Vanilla Fair Life Protein Drink
- Ninja Creami Cherry Sorbet
- Ninja Creami Sorbet Ice Cream - 1 15 oz container of fruit cocktail + Plus
