Why You Will Like This Recipe

The air fryer is perfect for cooking salmon because the circulating hot air cooks the fish quickly and evenly. The result is salmon that is tender and flaky on the inside without requiring a long cooking time.

The garlic butter mixture adds plenty of flavor without needing a long marinade. Butter keeps the salmon moist while garlic, lemon juice, and seasonings give every bite a savory, bright flavor.

This recipe is also incredibly simple. You can prepare the garlic butter while the air fryer preheats, brush it over the salmon, and let the air fryer do the rest of the work.

    Ingredients Needed

    • 4 6-oz. salmon fillets - Use fresh or thawed salmon fillets that are similar in size so they cook evenly.
    • 4 tbsp. melted butter (light butter) - Melted butter creates a rich garlic butter coating and helps keep the salmon moist as it cooks.
    • 5 cloves garlic, minced - Freshly minced garlic gives the best flavor and adds that classic garlic butter taste.
    • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan, plus more for serving
    • Juice of 1 lemon
    • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
    • kosher salt
    • 2 cups of fresh green beans
    • Freshly ground black pepper
    • Torn fresh parsley, for garnish

How to Make Air Fryer Garlic Butter Salmon

Step 1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Preheat an air fryer to 350 degrees.

In a medium bowl, mix together garlic, Parmesan, lemon, Italian seasoning, and melted butter and season with salt.

Step 2 Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees. Place a sheet of parchment paper down on the basket and then the salmon.

Step 3 Brush salmon with garlic butter marinade and season with pepper.

Step 4 When the salmon is half ways done cooking through add the green beans. Then continue cooking the salmon and green beans until they are done.

Pro Tips for Air Fryer Garlic Butter Salmon

Choose salmon fillets that are similar in thickness so they finish cooking around the same time.

Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket. Leave space between the fillets so the hot air can circulate properly.

Start checking the salmon around 7 minutes because cooking time can vary depending on the thickness of the fillets and your particular air fryer.

For the best results, use a meat thermometer to check the thickest part of the salmon.

You can also add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter if you like a little heat.

    Storage and Reheating

Store leftover garlic butter salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

To reheat, place the salmon in the air fryer at 350°F for a few minutes, just until warmed through. Avoid overcooking it because salmon can become dry when reheated.

You can also enjoy leftover salmon cold or flaked over a salad for an easy lunch.

    Serving Suggestions

Serve this garlic butter salmon with your favorite air fryer vegetables, roasted potatoes, rice, or a simple green salad.

For a lighter dinner, serve it with steamed broccoli, asparagus, green beans, or zucchini. Rice or mashed potatoes are great when you want something more filling that can soak up some of the extra garlic butter sauce.

A wedge of fresh lemon on the side adds a bright finishing touch.

Very easy recipe for when you’re tired from work. My husband enjoyed it (with extra parmesan of course.) I rarely like when I make salmon, so I’m glad I now have a salmon recipe in my arsenal now!

Every oven is different Cora. They don't all cook the same. Thanks.

It was very good - same as Carol, I needed to bake mine for over 30 minutes. It might have been the thickness of the salmon but it was not even close to done at 15 minutes. Great recipe.

Yummy but at 15 minutes the salmon was cold, another 15 minutes did the trick.
