This weight watchers turkey burger can be fun to make outdoors in the warmer months on a Blackstone griddle or even indoors. Use your favorite 0 point burger toppings.

You know when you scroll through Facebook and watch those food videos? I love watching those. I've got so many of them on my news feed, I think it sometimes slows down the speed loading time. They are so addicting to watch.  I go through the list of ingredients and wonder if I've got them all on hand or try to figure out ways to make the recipe lighter. I saw this recipe for Southwestern Turkey Burgers on Facebook btw, it was on Buzzfeed's (Tasty) Facebook page.

Why You Will Like This Recipe

For this burger, you can use lean ground turkey. The spices give it enough flavor so you don't have to worry about  the burgers being dry.

omatoes and guacamole are "healthy" already and just use some light cheese. The bun can be left out, you don't even need it but those Sandwich thins would make a great lighter bun substitute.

You can make this burger on an outdoor griddle like a Blackstone during the warmer seasons.

    Ingredients Needed for Turkey Burgers

    • Ground turkey - can be used in place of ground beef in most recipes and is a great way to reduce the amount of saturated fat in your diet. It is also a good source of protein and can be a healthier option for those looking to cut down on red meat consumption.
    • Shallots, minced - can also sub dried minced onions
    • Salt and Black pepper to taste
    • Chili powder - Is a blend of mixed red chilis that have been dried up and pulverized until it resembles powder. Sometimes other spices like cumin and paprika.
    • Cumin -  is a member of the parsley family. It is a dried seed that is made from a plant called Cuminum cyminum.
    • Smoked paprika - gives the seasoning an extra layer of smoke flavor

    How do I store leftovers?

Always store leftover turkey patties in clean, food-grade containers. The type of container doesn’t really matter. Use zip lock, glass, plastic,  whatever!  Make sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container.

Blackstone griddles are popular among outdoor cooking enthusiasts because of their versatility and they are also transportable so you can take them camping or to the lake. Unlike traditional grills. You can cook the turkey burgers on an out door griddle!
