Air Fryer Pizza is one of the easiest ways to make a quick, crispy, cheesy pizza at home. Whether you are using a store-bought pizza, a personal-size pizza, or homemade dough, the air fryer can give you a deliciously crisp crust while melting the cheese perfectly.

    Air fryer pizza from scratch.

There is no need to heat up the entire oven for one pizza. The air fryer heats quickly and circulates hot air around the pizza, making it perfect for busy weeknights, quick lunches, after-school snacks, or anytime a pizza craving hits.

If you’re cooking other frozen foods in the air fryer, see my Best Air Fryer Frozen Foods guide for general time and temperature rules.

    Why This Works

Making pizza in the air fryer is fast, simple, and produces great texture. The circulating hot air helps crisp the bottom and edges of the crust while the cheese melts and gets bubbly on top.

Another benefit is that you can make smaller pizzas without wasting energy heating a full-size oven. Air fryer pizza is also easy to customize. Add your favorite toppings, extra cheese, vegetables, cooked meats, or seasonings to make it exactly how you like it.

The cooking time can vary depending on the size and thickness of your pizza, but most pizzas are ready in just a few minutes.

    Ingredients Needed

    • 1 portion pizza dough (store-bought or your favorite homemade dough) - Use your favorite frozen, refrigerated, or homemade pizza. A personal-size pizza works especially well in most air fryers.
    • ¼ cup pizza sauce - If you are making homemade pizza, use marinara or your favorite pizza sauce. A thin layer helps prevent the crust from becoming soggy.
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or dairy-free alternative)
    • Your favorite toppings (pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers)
    • 1 teaspoon olive oil (for brushing the crust edge)
    • Cornmeal or parchment paper (to prevent sticking)

    Low Point Substitutions

Use part-skim mozzarella or a reduced-fat shredded cheese blend to cut down on points while still getting that melty texture.

If you want to keep the point count exceptionally low for a regular weeknight meal, try using a low-carb tortilla, flatbread, or a 2-ingredient Greek yogurt dough as your base instead of traditional yeast dough.

Pile on zero-point vegetables like bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and spinach to add volume and flavor without adding extra points.

How to Make Air Fryer Frozen Pizza

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for about 3 to 5 minutes so it’s nice and hot.

Roll out the dough to fit your air fryer basket or tray (typically a 6-to-8-inch circle, depending on your air fryer model).

Transfer the dough into the air fryer basket. If your basket has slots, placing the dough on a piece of perforated parchment paper makes removal much easier.

Par-bake the crust for 3 minutes at 400°F. This prevents a soggy bottom from the sauce.

Add the toppings: Remove the basket, spread the pizza sauce evenly over the crust (leaving a small border for the crust), sprinkle with cheese, and add your toppings.

Cook the pizza at 400°F for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly browned on the edges.

Slice and serve: Carefully slide the pizza out onto a cutting board, let it cool for a minute, slice, and enjoy.

Top with additional toppings if preferred.

NOTE: This recipe was made with a 4 qt basket style Ninja Foodi Grill air fryer. If you're using a different brand of air fryer, you may need to adjust the cooking time accordingly.

Pro Tips for Air Fryer Pizza

    • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Air needs room to circulate around the pizza for the best results.
    • If you are using homemade pizza dough, avoid adding too much sauce or wet toppings because they can make the crust soggy.
    • For extra crispy crust, let the pizza cook for another minute or two, but keep a close eye on it so the cheese does not burn.

    Serving Suggestions

Serve Air Fryer Pizza with a simple side salad, roasted vegetables, or fresh fruit for an easy meal.

For a classic pizza night, pair it with breadsticks, garlic knots, mozzarella sticks, or a small bowl of marinara sauce for dipping.

    Storage

Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days.

For the best texture, reheat leftover pizza in the air fryer rather than the microwave. Place the pizza slices in the basket and heat at 350 degrees F for about 2 to 4 minutes, or until warmed through and crispy.

You can also freeze leftover pizza slices. Wrap each slice tightly and store in a freezer-safe container or bag for up to 2 months.
