These Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Knots are an easy side dish or snack made with refrigerated pizza dough, garlic butter, Parmesan cheese, and a few simple seasonings. The air fryer gives the knots a beautifully golden outside while keeping the inside soft and tender. They come together quickly, making them perfect for pizza night, pasta dinners, game days, or anytime you want a warm, garlicky treat.

Ever since discovering the 2ID recipe I’ve been wanting to make these garlic knots with the dough. The only tricky part about these little knots is the making the knot itself. Don’t worry, I’ll have some step by step photos below. These garlic knots can be either baked in the oven or cooked in your air fryer.

Why This Works
Air frying is one of my favorite ways to make garlic knots because you get that delicious golden texture without having to heat up the oven. The circulating hot air cooks the dough quickly and helps the outside become lightly crisp while the center stays soft.
The garlic Parmesan topping is what makes these knots so good. Brushing them with melted butter before and after cooking gives them plenty of flavor, while garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan add a savory finish.
This recipe is also incredibly easy to customize. You can make the knots larger or smaller depending on how you want to serve them, and you can adjust the seasonings to suit your taste.

Ingredients Needed
- Self rising flour - Self-rising flour is a type of flour that already contains baking powder and salt, which are essential ingredients in many baked goods.
- Greek yogurt (nonfat) - is considered great for a variety of reasons. It is typically higher in protein and lower in sugar than regular yogurt, making it a good choice for those looking to maintain a balanced diet.
- Light butter - I like I can't believe it's not butter
- Parsley - is a type of herb that is commonly used as a garnish or seasoning in various dishes. It has a bright green color and a mild, slightly bitter taste. Parsley is a good source of vitamins A and C, as well as minerals such as potassium and iron.
- Garlic powder - is made from dehydrated garlic cloves and like the chili powder above it gets pulverized into a powder or flour consistency.
- Parmesan cheese - Parmesan cheese is a hard, granular cheese that originated in Italy. It is typically made from cow's milk and has a sharp, nutty flavor. Parmesan cheese is often grated and used as a topping for pasta dishes, salads, and other foods.

How to make Garlic Knots
Combine the greek yogurt and self-rising flour together in a bowl. Mix well and dump out the dough onto a work surface. I have made this dough so many times that I know there’s always going to be that leftover flour that doesn’t combine into the rest of the dough.

Form the dough into a ball with your hands on a work surface and cut the dough into 8 equal pieces. I use a bench scraper for this.
Let the dough sit in the fridge for a while before you start working with it. I find that this makes it easier to work with. Some people complain that the dough is sticky. Flour your hands or wet your hands when you are ready to start working with the dough.
Roll the dough balls out into a long rope.

Tie the dough up like you were making a knot on your tennis shoe.

Brush the dough with butter and spices and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Pro Tips for Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Knots
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. The knots need room for the hot air to circulate so they cook evenly.
Keep an eye on them toward the end of cooking. Pizza dough can go from golden brown to overdone quickly in an air fryer.
For extra garlic flavor, add a little minced fresh garlic to the melted butter.
If you like cheesy garlic knots, sprinkle on extra Parmesan while the knots are still warm so it sticks to the butter.
Storage and Reheating
Store leftover garlic knots in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
To reheat, place them back in the air fryer at 325 degrees F for 2 to 4 minutes. This helps bring back some of the crispness while keeping the center soft. You can also reheat them in the microwave, although they will be softer.
Serving Suggestions
Serve these Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Knots with marinara sauce for dipping. They are also delicious alongside spaghetti, lasagna, baked ziti, or your favorite pasta dish.
They make a great addition to pizza night and are also perfect for serving as an appetizer at parties or game-day gatherings.
For extra flavor, serve them with warm marinara, Alfredo sauce, or a creamy garlic dipping sauce.

it's good but who's supposed to eat ONE garlic knot? I mean I'm a garlic knot monster and I will devour a whole tray of them in seconds while also still eating a full meal, but who's supposed to have just one?
