Bubble Up Pizza with Canned Biscuits

Bubble Up Pizza is super fun to make and it is another variation of the bubble up enchilada recipe. Made with canned storebought biscuits. 9 smart points per ⅛th of the pan.

You guys liked the bubble up enchiladas so much, that I decided to try the bubble up pizza version of it. I've seen it pinned so many times now, that the enchilada version has become my most popular post on my blog. Yay, thank you to everybody for making that post such a success!

The pizza version is just as good and easy as the enchilada version. I do however, like the enchilada version, best so far. Always keep a can of biscuits in your fridge and you can pull together a week night meal as easy as this, in a snap. Turkey pepperoni is actually pretty good too, and tastes just like the fatty kind. Minus the grease.  Go out and try some turkey pepperoni if you haven't tried it yet.

How to Make Bubble Up Pizza

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. In a skillet, brown meat over medium-high heat until browned, stirring to crumble. Stir in onion powder, tomato sauce, basil, garlic and Italian seasoning.
  3. Add quartered biscuits to the bottom of a greased 9X13 in pan.
  4. Spoon beef mixture over the top of the quartered biscuits. Bake for 25 minutes. After the 25 minutes are up, sprinkle with cheese; bake an additional 10 minutes or until biscuits are done.
  5. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Bubble Up Pizza Variations

  • Smoked sausage and caramelized onions
  • Pepperoni, tomatoes, mushrooms, and onion
  • Pepperoni, sausage, green pepper, onion, and mushroom.
  • BBQ sauce, pineapple, grilled chicken, scallions, and cheddar cheese
  • Thousand Island dressing, topped with sauerkraut, corned beef or pastrami
  • Hawaiian Bubble Up Pizza
  • Meat Lovers pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and Canadian Bacon
Bubble Up Pizza - Weight Watchers

I am not affiliated with WW formerly known as Weight Watchers in any way. I am just a member who likes to create WW recipes and share them with everyone. Freestyle is the name of the current program of WW and smart points are calculated for the recipes. Some blogs list them as freestyle smart points and some list them as smart points. There is no difference between the 2.

How is this a WW recipe?

NO FOOD is off limits on WW and WW themselves stresses that a lot on their social media pages. That is one reason why I love WW. You can pretty much eat ANYTHING to lose weight just as long as you stay in your daily points range for that.

How does Weight Watchers work?

Each recipe or food has a Smart Points value. This is calculated using calories, saturated fat, protein, and sugar. It is best to stay away from foods that are loaded with saturated fat and sugar on the plan because those foods are higher in points. When you register with Weight Watchers you are given a daily set of points to target based on your age, gender, height, and activity level. Think of it as an easier way to track your macros.

Sorry for the nutrition error. Should be right now.

Somehow this recipe has been updated to say it's only 5 smart points- each Pillsbury Buttermilk biscuit alone is 5 smart points and if there's 15 biscuits a can and the recipe has 8 servings, there's no way a serving is is only 5 smart points. I. just wanted to give a heads up in case the consumer didn't do their own math.

Do we have to use the lean ground beef? I think it would be good without it.. it doesn't even look like its in the picture..
