Ingredients Needed for Dill Pickle Shot

Ingredients needed for dill pickle shot.
    • Shot Glasses
    • Vodka: A smooth vodka works best since it allows the pickle flavor to shine. Use your favorite brand and chill it before serving for the best taste.
    • Dill pickle juice: The star ingredient of the recipe. Use juice from your favorite jar of dill pickles. Refrigerated pickle juice creates the coldest and most refreshing shots.
    • Dill pickle slices or mini pickles: These make the perfect garnish and add extra pickle flavor.
    • See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

How to Make a Dill Pickle Shot

Place the vodka and pickle juice in the refrigerator until well chilled.

If desired, rim each shot glass with pickle juice and dip it into coarse salt or Tajín.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

Pour the vodka and pickle juice into the shaker. A common ratio is equal parts vodka and pickle juice, but you can adjust it to your taste.

Shake for about 15 to 20 seconds until the mixture is thoroughly chilled.

    Strain into chilled shot glasses.

    Pro Tips

    • Chill both the vodka and pickle juice before mixing for the best flavor.
    • Use high-quality dill pickle juice for the freshest taste.
    • Garlic dill pickle juice adds even more savory flavor.
    • For spicy pickle shots, use juice from spicy dill pickles or add a splash of hot sauce.
    • Make a large batch ahead of time and keep it refrigerated until guests arrive.
    • Chill your shot glasses in the freezer for an extra cold serving.
    • Taste the mixture before serving and adjust the vodka or pickle juice to suit your preference.

    Storage

These Dill Pickle Shots are best enjoyed fresh, but the mixture can be prepared ahead of time.

Store the mixed vodka and pickle juice in an airtight container or glass bottle in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Give it a quick stir or shake before serving since the flavors settle slightly over time.
