If you are looking for a fun and unique appetizer to bring that is last minute and easy to prepare try this Halloween Charcuterie board. You can make it sweet or savory!

Halloween is one of my favorite Holidays and I like to take some time off from making my typical Weight Watcher friendly recipes to bring you some fun and spooky ideas for your Halloween party. This will be my last Halloween recipe since Halloween is actually on Thursday this week. I’m hoping for some good weather and lots of Trick-or-Treaters to my new house.
A charcuterie (pronounced "shahr-ku-tuh-ree") board is typically found with an assortment of crackers, meat, cheese, and grapes. They are so easy to throw together at the last minute and do not require much thought other than where are you going to place the items on the board or what type of board you are going to use. Very easy and fun to make. I looked at a couple of Halloween charcuterie boards and most of them did include these typical items found on a board.
My Halloween charcuterie board is different and consists of a bunch of leftover sweet treats and candy that I needed from previous Halloween recipes or a variety of candies because that is what Halloween food pretty much is right? It’s all about the candy!
What do I need to make a Halloween Charcuterie Board?
Chocolate Milano Cookies
Chocolate Covered Toffee Pretzels
Candy Corn
Pumpkin candies
Assorted chocolate candy bars or candy
Arrange pretzels, Milano cookies, candy pieces, pumpkin candies, candy corn, and assorted chocolate candies on a 14-inch square platter.
Number of servings
This charcuterie board can feed on 4 to 6 people.
Tips for Charcuterie Boards
Add some height to your boards by using smaller round white or clear or dishes that can easily fit onto your board.
Add some savory items to the sweet candy such as pretzel sticks, Cheeze its, crackers, or Chex Mix.
The key to this is to have fun and use whatever candy or items YOU like. I found some good stuff from Aldi like the Chocolate Toffee covered pretzels and candy corn there. BTW, if you haven’t picked up a bag of the Chocolate Toffee pretzels you must try them if you can still find them! They also had some pumpkin spiced yogurt pretzels.
For a savory Halloween charcuterie board, Aldi had some pretty unique cheese out for Halloween. I saw them there but didn’t pick any up but they had the cutest packaging on them. The Aldi Facebook group I’m in really raves about these cheeses and they love creating charcuterie boards made with the items they find from Aldi. These were some of the flavors:
- Pumpkin Spice WensleyDale Cheese
- Bat Knit Crazy Cheddar
- Transylvanian Romanian Cave Cheese
- No Rest for the wicked WensleyDale Cheese
- Freaky Franken Sage Derby Cheese
If you are looking for unique candy try Target or Wal-Mart.
