Why You Will this Ninja Creami Pistachio Ice Cream

So I’m lactose intolerant and I finally found a protein shake that I actually like and doesn’t leave any weird aftertaste. They had OWYN plant based protein shakes at Target and I picked one up.

It’s a little bit icy when blended but I added some pistachio pudding mix to the pint and shaked it up very well. Then I cut up some pistachios. Got a small little pouch of them at Aldi.

If you don’t want a pistachio flavor ice cream you can make cheesecake flavored with instant pudding mix. There are so many varieties to try!

Ingredients Needed for Pistachio Ice Cream

    • 1 bottle of of vanilla OWYN protein shake - If you aren’t lactose intolerant like me use your favorite bottle of vanilla protein shake.
    • 3 tablespoons of Instant Pistachio pudding mix
    • 2 tablespoons of chopped pistachios (for garnish)
    • See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

You can also sub 1 cup of Ripple Vanilla Almond with 1 scoop of protein powder of choice and still add the pudding mix. I've tried both of these and they turned out pretty good.

How to Make Pistachio Ice Cream

Step 1 Pour the protein shake into a Ninja Creami Pint a long with the pistachio pudding and mix well to combine. You can use a hand held blender or just pop a lid on it and shake it for awhile.

Step 2 Set in freezer for 24 hours

Step 3 Press the Ice Cream option on the Ninja Creami blender and spin.

Step 4 While the ice cream is spinning chop up the pistachios and set aside. Garnish the top of the cream when it’s ready.

Finished pistachio ice cream with chopped pistachios.
